You know what you are getting with a wetherspoons. The wife and I went in for pizza (pizza club on Wednesday) . After having them before, we think (for the money) they are great. Plus you get that drink for only a £1 or so extra. Brilliant. Ordered our alcohol free drinks at the bar, the food at the table. No hassle. Food arrived within 10 mins. Hot and delicious. You have to hand it to wetherspoons. They know what there doing.
We had the 3 for £10 meal between me and my parents and we really enjoyed it. It is a great price and there are lots of options in this deal. The Lord Burton was very clean, considering how busy they were as it was near lunch time I was surprised with how tidy it was, some tables had some items on but it was easy enough to find a clear table. We had the vegetable pizza, chips and chicken wings. The chips and chicken was hot, the pizza was fresh but wasn't super hot. We also had the refillable coffee, one machine was hotter than the other but it was handy to keep refilling as much as we wanted. The toilets were also clean and easy to get to. The outside area looked nice as well, we will be back when it's warmer weather to use it. We ordered through the wetherspoons app which was really easy to do.
Always great value food and drinks. The back and out outside areas have a good atmosphere. Ordering on the app is a dream, the food and drink is there super quick. The unlimited drinks and free wifi is super if you have work to do, and in the day time its lovely and quiet. The best things on the menus are the steaks and also the jacket potatoes are good value. The offers are amazing, such good value. Breakfasts are always lovely. Best dessert has to be cookie dough, devine!
Another Spoons of my list with a lovely cold pint and great meal thrown in.Staff were pleasant and meal came out quickly and it was warm.If you're in the area I would highly recommend.
I popped into Wetherspoons for what I assumed would be a classic fish and chips moment… you know, golden, glorious, vaguely life-affirming. What I got instead was a plate that looked like it had lost the will to live somewhere between the fryer and my table. Let’s talk about the “fish.” I say that generously. I’ve seen fish fingers with more ambition and, frankly, more surface area. This thing was so small I briefly wondered if it was a sample. A teaser. A trailer for a fish that never made it to the main feature. The chips were… present. Not offensive, not memorable. Just there, like background extras who forgot their lines. The peas were doing their best to carry the plate emotionally, which is a lot to ask from a vegetable. Now, the vibe. You know that feeling when a place looks tired? Not cozy-tired. Existentially tired. Staff morale seemed somewhere between “end of a long shift” and “questioning all life choices.” And honestly, I don’t blame them because it felt wildly understaffed. Tables weren’t exactly sparkling either… more “lived-in pub archaeology” than clean dining. Condiments? A mythical concept. I half expected to find a dusty ketchup bottle behind a bar like buried treasure. No such luck. Although, credit where it’s due… the cider was served in the correct glass. A small but shining victory in an otherwise chaotic culinary saga. 🍺✨ Final verdict: If you’re craving fish and chips, this is more of a fish suggestion with potato accompaniment. Come for the price, stay because you’re waiting for someone to wipe the table. 🐟🍟
