📍 1.1 miles from Pirelli Stadium
The Burton Bridge Inn is a historic 17th-century pub and the oldest running brewery tap in Burton-upon-Trent. It houses the Burton Bridge Brewery, which has been brewing ales on-site since 1982. The pub offers a selection of eight ales, including their flagship Bridge Bitter, and specialist bottles from around the world. While it doesn't serve food, its rich brewing heritage and variety of ales make it a popular spot for both home and away fans seeking quality beer in a traditional setting. Its proximity to the Pirelli Stadium adds to its appeal for matchday visits.
Been years since I’ve happily supped at the Bridge. It used to be a very traditional cask ale venue that was like a home from home… but now it’s under new management, they’ve taken the best from the past… and added a fresh vibe. It’s warm, light, cosy and got a great lineup of cask and keg beers on. Some funky ciders too. What a great job!
I've been to football at Burton several times, but this was my first visit as I had more time before kick off. The Bass was OK. It seemed rude not to try the local beer. The pies and cobs looked good, but I'd eaten already. Great proper pub. Good beer choice.
Great traditional pub, cosy nooks and really good choice of beers.
Fantastic beer, made and served by some of the hardest working and loveliest people in the industry. I'd drive 200 miles for a few pints here (and stay the night, of course). Lucky enough to get the beer in London at some very select pubs.
We went to The Bridge on a Friday night, looking for some lively music and entertainment. Sorry to say, but we didn't find anything lively there, however, the DJ was playing good music, and the staff were lovely when we ordered our drinks. I don't know where everyone in Burton goes for a night out... It was advertised to have "Vinyl vibes with Take it to the Bridge" night, 7pm-late, but when we got there, there was only about 8 people upstairs and the DJ. 😓 The toilets were clean and as mentioned before, the staff were lovely. Pity there wasn't any more people there to support. We will try it again another time.
