We just had lunch here. It was busy and we would definitely recommended booking . The food was delicious , the portions were generous and everything was fresh and hot! Staff were very pleasant. We had the garlic bread and cheese and the prawn nibbles to start and after our mains were too full to try one of the delicious desserts available. We hope to return soon.

This place is more of a bistro than a pub. Inside, it's set up with lots of dining tables. There's no separate bar area, but you could sit at the bar if you just want a drink. It's nicely decorated with pictures of the old smithy that used to be across the road. They have a well-stocked bar with three or four real ales. The food is good. They seem to be really good at short crust pastry plate pies – none of those puff pastry topped casserole dishes. The staff are friendly and the service is attentive. I'll definitely be coming back here whenever I'm in the area.

This is a 4.5 star review. Brilliant pub & restaurant. The Bob's Smithy Inn is situated on yhe edge of the west pennine moors in Bolton. It has limited parking and an outdoor seating terrace af the rear. The building is around 200 years old and is a beautiful stone building with modern and traditional decor. The food, drinks and service are all fantastic. What are you waiting for? Prawn starter and the plate steak pie are recommended.

Came here for Sunday Roast and per usual, we were not disappointed! The food here is consistently excellent. Looking forward to the festive menu in the coming weeks! Make sure to have a reservation before heading here for the Sunday Roast, as it is quite popular.

Really kind and helpful staff and a great, superb value for money Sunday roast. The fact you can take the dog after walking around Walker Fold is a massive plus point. Only one negative was the roast potatoes need to be improved. 3 times I have had a roast here and every time they were hard, dry and almost inedible. Everything else on the roast was perfect though and the beef and pork was to die for. Definitely worth a visit, I just hope the roasties improve :)
