Great place for a Sunday Roast! Tasty food, good prices, friendly service, highly recommended! Their carvery is also top. There's also a free parking at the back and WiFi too
I recently visited The Bee Hive and had a truly wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the prices were surprisingly low for such amazing quality. The drinks were also very affordable and incredibly tasty. What really made the visit special was the service. Our waitresses, Shadow and Mandy, were friendly, smiling, and always ready to help. No matter what we asked for, everything was handled quickly and without any problems. A big thank you as well to the kitchen team — Hallum and Lisa — for preparing such delicious meals. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!
God, where to start… Parking is quite confusing and not lit up at night time so unless you know the area then it’s not quite clear that the Bee Hive shares its parking with Premier Inn. Upon walking in the place is nice, warm and comfortable. Toilets are clean and the table area was also clean. The staff are friendly and welcoming, very relaxed though. The food wasn’t great. I got the “Cheesey Meltdown Burger” but it was more of a No-Cheese Letdown Burger lol. The cheese was like a paste, I had to scrape it onto my burger bun. When my partner asked why the quality was awful and if we can get it re-done the staff said “yeah, that’s how it is, that’s how it comes from the supplier. We get (the complaints) all the time.” …what? Then change supplier? Do staff not pass on complaints to whoever is in charge of the menu? My partner requested my burger to be taken back and cheese to be melted into it seeing as the “cheesey” burger had no cheese. The staff member agreed, said there’d be a charge of 50p then came out with an American cheese slice on a plate and placed it next to me. Oh my god, you could not make this up 🤣 Like, I’m really not that hard to impress. Pub grub is pub grub but this was hilariously bad all around. From the food to the way the complaint was handled- “not our fault”. Anyway, my parents and my partner got the carvery which they said wasn’t great (meat was dry, roasties cooked with a funny taste but we did come at 7pm? Although I’m not sure if that excuses bad tasting food) all of them have bad stomaches now - I’m totally fine - and right before we left one of the waitresses dropped dirty cutlery on my mum’s coat but said nothing. When my mum found out she wasn’t happy, management at first refused to do anything other than say sorry and then eventually after 10-15 minutes of my mum explaining that it’s unfair, they gave in and refunded my mum £25 so she could get her coat dry cleaned (it was expensive fur apparently) 🤷♀️ I don’t know, the whole experience was just really bad. I never leave bad reviews but this has been my local for almost 10 years and I finally decided to try it whilst my parents were visiting. I’m embarrassed to have bigged it up as much as I did, such a shame. Edit after reading the resutarant's reply... First off, no, a fresh cheese sauce was not offered. The issue was explicitly that the “cheesy” burger came with a cold paste that staff openly said “that’s how it comes from the supplier and we get complaints all the time.” That’s not a one-off issue, that’s a known problem that clearly hasn’t been fixed, and deflecting the issue in your reply is actually crazy. Secondly, saying there were “no issues at the time” because staff did a check-back is pointless when the issue was raised after trying to eat it and being told there was nothing that could be done because it’s a supplier problem. That’s the whole problem. As for the carvery, multiple people becoming ill afterwards isn’t exactly reassuring, regardless of how many “rules and regulations” you have. Food can still be bad and legally compliant. And the coat situation… genuinely shocked you thought it was appropriate to mention that a young waitress paid out of her own bank account. That's deeply unprofessional and should never, ever have happened. Staff should not be personally compensating customers for management issues. Your response feels more focused on deflecting responsibility than actually acknowledging what went wrong. Which, unfortunately, tracks perfectly with how the whole situation was handled on the night.
They do it fantastic carvery in here! Always enjoy my dinner here. Efficient and friendly staff. Easy to book online to reserve a table, but never really needed too. I love it here as I can charge my car up while I’m eating, now that is a great idea! Enjoy!
We brought our Scout Troop here for a carvery as part of our summer camp. Amy and Jordan were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly and looked after us really well. The food was excellent, all three meats and all the vegetables were tasty, well cooked and plenty of them. Great value for money.
