Garath James McCleary is a Jamaican professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Wycombe Wanderers in League One. Born on May 15, 1987 in Oxford, England, McCleary began his youth career at Oxford City before moving on to play for Slough Town and Bromley. In 2008, he made his professional debut for non-league side Bromley, where his impressive performances caught the eye of Football League clubs.
In 2008, McCleary signed for Nottingham Forest, where he spent five seasons and made over 100 appearances for the club. Known for his pace, skill, and ability to score goals from midfield, McCleary became a fan favorite at Forest before moving on to Reading in 2012. During his time at Reading, he helped the club secure promotion to the Premier League in 2017, although they were eventually relegated back to the Championship. In 2020, McCleary signed for Wycombe Wanderers, where he continues to be a key player for the team with his experience and leadership on and off the pitch.
