It's very well located just next to the church and town centre. There are plenty of seatings indoors; the beer garden is nice and spacious as well Staff are friendly and efficient Great place for some good value drinks and pub meals.

My sister & I popped in here late one Tuesday morning recently and elected for a table by the windows looking out over to the church and roundabout. Having duly noted the number of our table I went to the bar to order our breakfast. I had the full English and my sister had a more modest cooked breakfast. Of course, we took full advantage of the free refills of coffee and hot chocolate. Oh, and for breakfast I always like a large glass of chilled orange juice - no ice. You really can't beat a Wetherspoons for value. We enjoyed our stay here where the staff were pleasant enough. And, as a bonus once you eventually manage to get to the toilets on the first floor they are quite grand...

Good standard Wetherspoons pub, not an historic place. Absolutely fine for meeting friends. Gents cloakroom far too far up several flights of stairs especially if you have back or walking difficulties.

Popped into this place for a meal (lunch). Found the app too annoying to use so I ordered the old school way (at the bar). Plenty of spaces if you like spacious fine dining. I opted to sit near the escape doors at the back of the venue as the last time I was in the same venue it got pretty ugly, and although this time my visit was during the day, I opted for safety over risk. Anyway. It is very cheap. Two meals and two drinks for just over Β£10. That's fantastic if you're on a budget, however, my meal wasn't edible. Additionally, the staff who served the meals practically threw the dishes at us, now, I'm not sure if she was practising her discuss throwing skills or she was just having a bad day; either way, it kept me on my toes within regards to catching the plate. I did need the toilet whilst there. The journey to the ladies took me as far as Peterlee, I'm sure, but the toilets were very clean, if not as cold as a mortuary. The back is quite pleasing on the eye. I can imagine it being busy and adventurous in the summer. Best thing about my visit here was definitely leaving. Interesting experience nonetheless.

I arrived with friends. Went to bar to order food & everything seemed to be OK. Nevertheless I went for a cup of coffee from the machine, only to find a large queue. I waited at least 15 minutes & the gentleman in front of me said he had tried the machine & both had no milk in them & he had asked for milk 10 minutes before. I then asked if they could replace the milk in the machine. The manager came over & raised her voice to me & another lady, she told us several times to sit down. I explained if we sit down we would loose our place in que. She shouted sit down you won't get your coffee any earlier or later. She spoke to us like we were 2 years old. I was so angry with her attitude I swore at her. She then said she would give me a full refund. I was happy with that but I didn't get a full refund & i had nothing to eat or drink. She needs to earn respect. A Customer Service Course needed. I only swore because she raised her voice & shouted at me & another lady Customer. Who also said she was out of order. We only wanted a cup of coffee, which we had paid for.

Very impressed with the food! We had to drop our car at the mechanic and decided to walk around to find a breakfast spot when we stumbled upon Weatherspoons. We had heard their prices were reasonable and decided to give them a try, but walking in we almost walked out again. The venue looked tacky, the table we sat at by the window was covered in crumbs which we decided to wipe off with a tissue. We had a look at the sticky menus on the table and decided on our breakfasts. The staff were friendly. The hot chocolate from the dispensing machine das weak but the cappuccino was good. Breakfast was served with a smile and was very fresh and tasty. Will definately try another branch.

Standard Wetherspoons pub drinks and food wise but what sets this place apart is the staff. All are extra friendly and helpful from the young bar staff to the tattoo’d bloke who works at a scary speed and volume but is super friendly and chatty. The managers are always polite and friendly. Best staffed pun I’ve ever been in.

I’m appalled by the service at my local Wetherspoon. We visit regularly and are well known there, but the attitude from one particular staff memberβ€”an older, bald manβ€”was atrocious and completely uncalled for. We ordered food, and one of us had a pint. My partner, who is clearly overage, had forgotten her ID. Instead of handling the situation with understanding, this staff member abruptly took her drink away with a cocky attitude. He has served us multiple times before without ever asking for ID, making his behavior even more shocking. The way he spoke to her was rude and unnecessary. To make matters worse, Wetherspoon has a strict policy of no refunds or swaps, so we were left out of pocket. They didn’t even offer a soft drink as a replacement. The food was average, but the staff atmosphere was unwelcoming and unpleasant. Very disappointing experience.
