This is a very nice pub with a good size car park. Inside is quite big with pool tables and 2 dartboards. Outside has a nice covered garden area with a large tv. Staff are friendly. Food is very reasonably priced with specials on certain days of the week. Despite the price, the quality of the food is good.
We visited on a Saturday just after noon and it was very quiet. It did get busier by the time we left. We did have a play on the dart board. It was fun. They have an electronic score board too which makes it easier. It was free to use. They do have free to borrow darts behind the counter but if you intend to play, I suggest bringing your own.
The pub is well decorated and clean. We had a nice entertaining lunch. Would definitely return. Recommended.

Actually was very sceptical going to the
merlin due to past stories I had been told. Let me make this clear them stories were very wrong. What a friendly pub this is, the staff are amazing so friendly and helpful. The food was also good with a very good price tag. I have you to say I have eaten my words and will be returning often. Thank you all.

The atmosphere was excellent, especially considering that this pub used to be rough in the past. They’ve done an amazing job of creating a cozy and authentic English vibe. The service was impeccable, and the food was incredibly affordable for the quality. However, if you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, you might want to consider spending a bit more.
The only reason I deducted a star is because the seasoning was a bit lacking, and our table was a bit dirty. But overall, you won’t be disappointed with The Merlin. Friends or family!

It won’t let me leave a review. But can I make a few suggestions. I did visit there when in uk and I felt like an outsider. Ok yes I’m
Irish but no one helped when we went inside. I had to ask a local what to do and how to order. The tables were not cleared off and no cutlery left on the table. We ordered outlet food which I don’t understand took 45 minutes. To which (1) my mash was not fresh mash it was the instant mash potatoes. The ale pie was ok but missing a bit more flavour even add more filling as the crust was heavy. Chicken dish was nice absolutely loved it and the chips. Husband loves the cheese pasta. Was disappointed with the attitude with staff there as it was like if you don’t like what you see get out attitude. It kind of put me off going in there again

Tuesday visit for lunch. Great menu in managed outlets at very reasonable prices. 2 meals for £10.99 and seniors menu of two courses for £4.99. Our meals were spot on, just a bit high on prices for drinks. Hunters Chicken and Katsu Chicken. Yumm

Unbeatable Mac and Chips, super fresh Fish and Chips and great ambience. Sunday roast prices are hard to beat, too. Not so impressed by the beer, though. For those that prefer lagers (or the Greene King IPA), those are available, I'm more of a real ale person and it's a tad disappointing in that department. The Icebreaker Pale on draught is pretty good nonetheless but theres hardly any 'good' beer options apart from that.

The fish and chip were nice, so was the garlic bread I wish the peas mash was a bit more creamy but thanks for the amazing service.
