Along time since I visited here. But will definitely be back. Beer in excellent condition. Kirkstall brewery mild at 6.5 in great condition. Also Brew York superb. Great interior decor. Superb choice of beers including 3 milds. Food available and pleasant, not to loud background music. Part of Huddersfield railway station.

I stopped by Head of Steam last week and it was a great experience. The staff, mainly Vinny and Kieran, were fantastic, super friendly, and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere was cozy, with a great selection of ciders and a few snacks. It’s a great place to grab a pint while waiting for a train or just unwind. Highly recommend it for anyone passing through or looking for a local pub with top notch service!

On Tuesday I had a very nice couple of pints of cask ale and a lovely chat with the staff behind the bar. Ciaran was a great host suggesting beers for me and Vinny sorted me pie. There was also a nice girl called Shane who served me and made me feel very welcome. Beers more expensive than most laces but the service is brilliant.

Went the other day with a friend who'd just got off the train,he had pie peas and gravy which was a vegetarian option and lived it. My cappuccino was very nice. Lovely building with railway memorabilia all over. They also have some great hand pulled beers, ciders larger bottles etc and soft options and coffee which I love

We had a great stop here on our booze cruise from Leeds to Huddersfield and back. The Head of Steam has been a favourite of mine since my student days at Huddersfield University from 2006 to 2010 and it hasn't changed for the worse. Great selection of ales and ciders, lovely atmosphere, kind and knowledgeable staff who are happy to have a chat, great decoration all over and just overally cozy and lovely. The patrons are typical Yorkshire lads and lasses and you usually find someone to have a chat with. The only thing that sucks, but more for the owners and staff then the patrons is, that the direct access from the platform is no longer available.

Visited yesterday before and after the match. Lovely pub with a choice of seating areas, extensive selection of drinks and a very friendly welcome. I opted for the Dubel which was excellent as always. Very quick service before the match as it wasn’t overly busy but after the game it was very busy and without wanting to sound critical the service was a bit on the slow side and stretched almost as if it really needed another couple serving. All round experience was very good, would have no hesitation in returning and next time I do I’m going for one of the pies from the menu as they smelt and looked fantastic.
