We loved our stay at the Duke of Edinburgh. Staff were very friendly and helpful, location was great, we walked everywhere, our room was comfortable and quiet and serviced every day. There’s a lift. The lift was installed around the a staircase that is very old and preservation of it was important. There is a pub downstairs that serves great food and delicious bubbles and cocktails and of course, beer. Many types of beer. Our included breakfast on the last day was delicious and varied. As well as what is available on the breakfast menu they offer pastries, jams etc. All in all a good stay.

Lovely comfortable, well appointed rooms. Delicious food. Great selection in the bar. Great service. Almost half the price of the nearby chain 'Inn' that my company keep dumping me in. My new go-to while in Barrow.

We have been coming here for the past couple of months for a Sunday Lunch. Service is fantastic both bar staff and waiting on staff are very attentive and well mannered. The Dinner is absolutely gorgeous, cannot fault anything! Such a good price with drinks. You would think you were in a city, lovely restaurant.

The Duke is great accommodation especially for a short stay, the rooms are clean, tidy, warm and the deluxe rooms are worth it! The shower is amazing and it is very spacious. The staff are warm, welcoming and incredibly hospitable. Book your room including breakfast, the chef does a great full veggie breakfast. The halloumi is *chef's kiss* It is located in the centre of the city right next to the railway station and if you drive parking is next door.

Quality hotel and very stylish room. Room was also very quietly situated on top floor. We had 2 great nights sleep! |Good food choices for both breakfast and evening meal. Staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend and will definitely return.

The building is a beautiful historical building with plenty of character and charm. Most of the rooms are spacious, roomy, clean and well presented. my only criticism is that a few of the TVs are small and not modern enough to play Netflix or prime for example. The breakfast is lovely and offers a good choice. The staff are very helpful. Bar prices are a little pricey, but there is a wetherspoons a couple of hundred metres down the road.

Met some long time friends here for a few refreshments. Lovely bar area. Good beer selection. Only crisps available as bar snacks, no peanuts or pork scratchings... Trouble finding suitable parking.

Staff were friendly and the food was great. My teenager had the Make it Biggar Burger and ate the whole lot, as it was so good, and my husband enjoyed the locally sourced sausage trio. I asked for my steak to be rare, and rare is what I got... well done that chef!
