It a nice pub it fantastic inside and outside
When I when food too 45 mins to turn up and it was other done the bun was hard and dry burgers was burnt
Pulled pork chewy as hell.
Best part was hash brown and fry egg.
When the server came over to get the plates we told her about the food, she didn't look too bothered or sound too bothered either.

Fantastic experience and the food was absolutely stunning. The staff was very friendly polite and helpful. Very busy but the service was quick. Plenty of parking with a lot of disabled parking but it gets very busy at the weekend so book a table.

Bar staff friendly and welcoming with good advice about drinks. We had booked a table for 2 pm, but actually had arrived an hour earlier. The staff had no issue, our table was already reserved so we were seated early. Ordering is easy. Even though I had some dietary requirements, the staff member dealt with it easily and adjusted the meal for me.
The meals came out quicker than expected and were hot and on hot plates!! Beautifully cooked, we had no complaints at all. A member of staff came to check how are meals were.
I can honestly say, we have eaten at The Sump many times over the last 20 years or so and we've never had a bad experience. That said, the service and food over the last 5 years has improved again. So well done to the whole team. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we will continue to come back!

Cin artists of the highest order. Promoting father's day via the below leaflet conning people into thinking the vouchers will give 30% discount as stated but hidden away in the tiny print it states not valid fathers day weekend. You should be ashamed at such blatant lying marketing and people vote with your feet and go elsewhere where you get the truth in advertising. I have reported this to trading standards for all the good they are.

Staff very friendly, lovely greeting, table was ready for us. Very easy to place our order, were asked if any allergies, my husband is allergic to mushrooms, it was noted down. Friendly service bringing the dinner, staff very polite. Dinner itself was lovely, hot and presented nice. I asked for an extra pot of gravy, it was brought to me straight away. Pudding was nice too. Overall, excellent meal and will definitely be back soon.. price was great value too.. £68 family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teenage children, 4 dinners and 4 puddings

The lady behind the bar was very rude and abrupt, we ordered a starter One bbq cauliflower wings, well over 30 minutes to be served, it was burnt and very bland served with some rocket, the main courses we had was the Ultimate spicy beef burger which comes with two thin patty’s one about quarter of an inch bigger than the other overcooked and dry, burnt bun, about 30 warm not hot fries thrown all thrown onto a plate, and we also had ordered the hunters chicken which comes with comes with 20 warm chips, a few pieces of limp bacon which was like a pork scratching came with a so called “salad” which was a few pieces of rocket and half a tomato’s
The wait was too long for the value of the food and the price and for how not busy it was is ridiculous. Only pro was the waitress bringing the food out was lovely.
The pictures will be added to.

The Sump looks amazing, all decorated up for Halloween.
The atmosphere is great, food is gorgeous, and service is brilliant. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Had scampi, chips, and mushy peas, served with a lovely tartar sauce. To follow a very tasty Blood Orange and Chocolate Brownie with ice cream.
The pub is lucky enough to be right next to the river trent, so it's good to sit outside in summer and any other dry day, enjoying a drink/meal and watching the ducks.
There is disabled parking around the rear of the pub and also disabled accessibility.
Menu is varied with vegetarian options, and not too expensive.
Drinks are also reasonably priced, with alcohol free options.

Last night as another enjoyable eating experience. We selected a meal from the the special menu, which made the total cost under £25. Although we had to wait approximately 25 minutes for our food, it was well worth the wait. The food was hot and tasty.
We had to prompt the waitress to ask where our food was, and she was a little sharp with her response. I suppose her reaction was due to being busy. However, while we were leaving, we thanked her for our meal, and she gave us a lovely smile. It made the difference of us wanting to return again. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.
