Service was great very friendly and helpful, lovely place to eat, drink and watch sport on TV. Food was very nice especially the mix and match menu, great choice of drinks. Nice and clean, the staff service was spot on, the only 1 thing how long it took to clear the table after eating. Great value for money.

Never visited a Hungry Horse before. We were very impressed with the service and at the great caution taken with food as I have an allergy. There's a young lad called Levi working there and he was really helpful and polite and was happy to answer any questions or ask the kitchen. Very handy and quick place for lunch when in the Salford area.

You should all be incredibly proud of the service you give you’re a dream team! From the moment we arrived, Levi made us feel completely at home. Friendly, professional, attentive he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He truly stands out as someone who cares about his work and the people he serves. The bar staff were brilliant quick, friendly, and always smiling. And the two girls who helped us were absolute stars, full of warmth and positive energy. Their attention to detail and kindness didn’t go unnoticed. Now the food... wow! Everything was absolutely delicious. Our meals were cooked to perfection, and I have to give a special shoutout to the eggs—they were genuinely perfect. It's rare to find a place that gets it all right: great staff, great food, great atmosphere but The Matchstick Men nailed it. We left feeling full, happy, and very well looked after. I had the pleasure of being served by leanne during my recent visit to the matchstick man and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional service they provided. From the moment we were greeted, it was clear that she was not only highly professional but also genuinely passionate about creating a positive dining experience. Leanne was attentive without being intrusive, anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, and maintained a warm, welcoming demeanor throughout the entire meal. Whether it was offering helpful menu recommendations, ensuring our drinks were always full, or checking in at just the right moments, every interaction was thoughtful and timely. What stood out the most was her ability to make us feel like valued guests, not just another table. It’s rare to come across someone who blends efficiency, kindness, and charisma so seamlessly. Thanks to Leanne, our visit was not only enjoyable but memorable. The food is good and reasonably priced. Plus, the portions are quite generous. But what really stood out was the staff. AJ, thank you for taking such good care of us – you were a fantastic host. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Had a cracking monday evening meal with work at the Matchstick Man, food was lovely and can't remember the last time we had Boddingtons on draught, would highly recommed a visit. Faris and the team were excellent.

My daughter and I had a gorgeous meal from the mix it up menu at the Matchstick Man on Thursday evening and we would highly recommend the chicken skewers and cheese and jalapeño sausages. Our server Deryn was extremely attentive all the time we were there and was really friendly and helpful. Great pub, food, and staff. Thank you for a lovely evening x
