First time in this little gem of a pub. It was playoff final day and 6 Sunderland supporters needed a place to watch it. The staff put the football on for us, showed us a few rooms we could go into watch it that was a nice touch. Good selection of alcohol, great staff and great locals who we had a chat and a laugh with. Highly recommended boozer πŸ’―

Went in here for a quiet pint last week. The staff are lovely, but it was genuinely scary. There's a bad chemical problem openly being used in the toilets, as can be seen by the photos and because of this, there's a definite sense of aggression.

Unfortunately, there’s a new landlord and all the loudmouthed, half-wits and their feral kids are back in. So the regulars (who buy drinks rather than bringing their own in around the back) will go elsewhere. Hopefully, the new landlord will get this sorted and get the regulars back in.

Family friendly pub with award winning real cask ales. The bar staff are fantastic, friendly and always greet you with a smile. Definitely the best pub in the area 😊

Since the Tempest has shut; all the chavs are now going here with their screaming kids running amok. It's gone from one of the best pubs in Bolton to the worst. In reply to your response: Well, stopping the copious amount of drug taking in the back, would be a start. I mean, this is done in full view of everyone; including their own children.

Traditional style local pub convenient to the neighborhood. Friendly staff. You'll get some looks from the locals but only because they're curious. Has a dart board in one room. A pool table in another. Has an outdoor seating area as well. Across the street from a larger pub called The Doffcocker. The Hope and Crown is often called the little Doffcocker. Ales are good and prices are fair.
