Visited The Hanbury on a busy sunny Saturday and it was exactly the experience you want when you go out for food with a good atmosphere. The inside of the pub lounge/bar/restaurant was really tastefully done, the decor was sympathetic and considerate of its long history which is lovely to see. The outside was picturesque and calm overlooking the river, quiet and away from the main road so it was really tranquil. We had the Spicy Burger meal which was just perfect in every way; served hot, ingredients looked fresh and well proportioned. The food looked exactly as described on the menu picture. I could write a whole paragraph on how good each of the food items is. The staff were attentive and always on hand/visible to customers. The service was well timed and we never waited to be served which was a bonus considering we arrived unbooked and on a Saturday at peak time. Overall its a definite place to go for a good meal with excellent atmosphere, oh and also there's plenty of free parking on site as long as you put your reg into their computer on arrival.
Looking forward to coming back

We have just had a delicious meal at The Hanbury Arms, with a slightly nervous rescue dog, and it was enjoyed immensely! Very dog friendly, the food was all scrumptious- I particularly recommend the chicken burger- and staff very cheerful. The service was really prompt, hardly any wait time and everything was an incredibly reasonable price. Our dog hasn't been in many of these situations but because it was full of regulars with dogs, and she was left alone, it went very smoothly. We will definitely be back!

Not having visited the Hanbury Arms for a few years we were attracted by receiving a money-off voucher. We booked online, which was very straightforward. We were glad we had been pre-warned about fines people had been issued with by the company now running the parking in Caerleon, but in practice it was well-signed when we entered that we needed to register on the I-pad by the bar to avoid charges/fines. It was not a problem. Staff were very pleasant. We had a table with a nice view of the river. Ordering was by qr-code or waitress service - we chose the latter. The choice was good for both food and drinks, and the prices were reasonable. It was an excellent spot for a leisurely evening and we would happily visit again.

Popped by for lunch today while attending the Caerleon Arts Fest and the team couldn't have been more welcoming, attentive and polite - especially Darcei! Nothing was too much bother & what a wonderful smile! Oh the food was delicious too! My partner had the Steak and Ale Pie and I had a very yummy Hunters Chicken Melt with chips.

Belter. Impressed.
Dropped a star because of 2nd lager in the wrong glass... can't be dealing with that, especially when quiet. Great place though.

Fantastic pub located right on the River Usk. The building itself is beautiful and the history of the pub and Caerleon are displayed throughout adding to the atmosphere. The food is really good and great prices. The thing that makes this pub is the staff, they are exceptional. Attended here initially for a funeral tea and returned in the evening as it was so welcoming and relaxed. The Wednesday night speed quiz is great fun, and you must give it a try if you are in the area.

Great, dog friendly pub. We ordered the starter as a light lunch. I had the Nachos and my wife had the Cheesy Chips. Both meals were lovely and well worth the price. Had chocolate orange sponge cake which was gorgeous. Shelby was friendly. Beautiful view out the window. I would definitely eat there again.
