Had a work dinner for colleagues visiting from abroad. We were a group of 8 people and was booked into the private dining area which was great. The food was awesome, I only remembered to take a picture of the starter, which was delicious. The Main and dessert was just as tasty with respectable portion sizes. My colleagues commented on the Scotch Egg being the best Scotch Egg they have ever tasted, so something to request next time. Staff were amazing and made us feel welcomed. Will definitely come back. Facilities were clean Food: Starter (picture): Bubble & Squeak with bacon, Hollandaise sauce & soft poached egg Main (special menu): Lamb rump with potatoes & veg Pudding: Sticky Toffee Pudding with clotted cream and butterscotch

This place has such potential with its building, location and staff, but the food let's it down. Last time I ate here they were so accommodating we were grateful for whatever they were able to offer, but on returning today someone warned us not to have a roast, but still my mum wanted one. The roast potatoes were so hard and not crispy, she couldn't eat them. My risotto was ok, but really lacked flavour and the rice was undercooked, with too much of a crunch to it.

We had such a lovely evening at The Grouse and Ale in Lane End! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, exactly what you want from a village pub. We started with the homemade scotch egg and the goats cheese bon bons, both were absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavour, absolutely outstanding. We then had the steak and the swordfish - steak was cooked beautifully, as for the swordfish - wow - cooked to perfection, just gorgeous. A special shout out to Matt, Andrew and Charlotte, who were all amazing! They were so friendly, full of personality, and made us feel right at home, nothing was too much trouble, they actually really made our night something special, and we loved it! We’ll definitely be back soon. A real gem of a place – highly recommend!

The service was wonderful. The whole staff especially the manager Tom was so attentive and accommodating. The food was excellent! I had slow braised pork, and it was cooked perfectly. Dessert was also delicious and the cappuccino is one of the best I’ve had lately. Overall, this was an incredible dining experience. Highly recommended. Would definitely visit again.

Very nice pub and Restaurant. Approx 23 of us for lunch. A little wait for some for their food, but generally excellent service. I had the deep fried brie, then the free range Tamworth pork chop which was excellent. Plenty of meat, soft and cooked well. Not so keen on the veg which seemed a little overcooked. Finished with the apple and blackberry crumble and pot of custard. The pots are small, but the waiter kindly brought another one. And they do 0 0 Guiness. Our group had a very enjoyable time.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. For starters, we had the mozzarella sticks and the ham hock & chicken terrine, both were very tasty. Then for mains we had the pork roast and the fish and chips, both dishes were flavourful and had a generous portion size. For dessert, we really enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding and the apple & blackberry crumble. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this pub to couples, families and dog owners!

Can't fault this pub. Everything about it was wonderful. The food was delicious and the staff went above and beyond to make sure my Mother had a memorable 85th birthday. Would highly recommend.
