A super, traditional pub located deep in the mysteries of Blackheath, maybe Lee back in the day. Not far from Blackheath hospital and also the rather fine St Margaret's Church, from there, a short walk down St Margaret's passage to be met by the Dacre Arms with it's welcoming open door.

30 years ago, this was my works' local - a proper London boozer in the backstreets. I've been away a long time but now I sometimes have to visit the area and it's STILL a proper London boozer, run by the same family, full of locals of all ages - ideal for a quiet chat or sitting in the garden and soaking up the sun (or rain!) There's no food these days, but amongst a few real ales Harvey's Best is always on which is a really good test for a pub! A beautiful pub in a quiet location, lovely staff, ideal for a quiet pensive pint.

πŸš‡Β Blackheath 🍺 £6.00 Amstel The Dacre Arms is located in a quiet residential area on the border between Lewisham, Lee and Blackheath. The nearest station is Blackheath, it’s a ten minute walk to get here. This pub was built in 1864 and was remodelled in the 1970’s. The old public bar used to be at the front and the saloon bar at the back with the servery running through the middle. This is a traditionally decorated pub that just oozes oldschool charm. The bar area is split into three sections which are separated by well preserved panelled partitions. The servery is located on the left-hand side and stretches down the length of the bar. The seating is an assortment of comfy curved banquettes with matching upholstered chairs, there were also stools in front of the servery which is always great to see. The walls are clad in beautiful fielded panels which have all manner of trinkets and knick-knacks hanging from them. There is also a signed picture of Mickey Pearce from Only Fools And Horses. At the back of the pub is a well appointed beer garden with a covered smoking area and outside bar. The beer selection was a who’s who of familiar favourites plus four cask ales. I kept it simple and decided on a pint of Amstel, my pint hit the spot, price point was average. This pub doesn’t serve food but there are plenty of bar snacks to keep you going. I arrived just after opening and was soon joined by one of the locals who plotted up at the ramp. As it was quiet, I managed to have a good mooch about the pub and see it in all its glory. The service was excellent, the Lady who served me was lovely and chatty, which set a nice tone for my stay here. The @dacrepub is a hidden gem that is everything you would want a backstreet local to be. I absolutely loved the fact that the decor had not been tampered with and has been lovingly maintained. In today’s commercially profit-driven era of gastropubs and brewery chains, it was great to spend time in this marvellous and much loved local boozer. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 01.06.24

Racist pub. Used to come here a few times a week but slowly realised the place is full of bigots including staff who joined in on chat about Muslims, black people, foreigners etc. None of the regulars and again, including staff seem to care that this is going on and like I said, would join in. Avoid at all costs. Plenty better pubs around the borough.

Perfection for anyone who loves well cared for local pubs. Good outdoor drinking space and just away from the centre of Blackheath

Nice to find a proper pub, not a hint of gastro about it. Tables outside could have done with a wipe, though

Superb, cosy, old-fashioned pub with a carpet and lovely wood-panelled interior. Good selection of drinks, real ale etc. A genuine and much-loved local. Great place just to drink and chat.
