We ordered from Bar.Code through Just Eat, The food was absolutely beautiful—fresh, hot, and packed nicely. It arrived on time, and the portion sizes were just right for the price. Everything was well-prepared and tasted amazing. Will definitely be ordering again! Highly recommend!

We booked Bar.Code for a Hen Do, and it was amazing! The staff could not do enough for us the whole afternoon. Would recommend to others for future events.

Had a fantastic time at this lovely riverside spot in Newport! The food was delicious, the cocktails were perfectly crafted, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. A warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a very poor experience with this venue. Being told at 22.40 the day before we were due to deliver that we cannot drop off at the previously agreed time wasn't even the start of the problems. Very difficult to get hold of - the excuse was very busy (which can happen, but this was how things started). Then the change of plans for the day of setup. Then after setting up where instructed to by venue staff, being told by another staff member that it would need to be moved. Then collection issues - we were told nobody would be there until 10am which massively inconvenienced us, some of the items at the venue were needed for a wedding in Gloucester the following day. We had to go to Gloucester, then travel back to get the items needed, then back to Gloucester (thanks a lot!). The lack of empathy wasn't even the worst part, which was of course that there had been staff on site from 7am!!!! It Genuinely seems as though this place was being deliberately difficult towards us, the reason for which was suggested by the person who'd booked us as being that the venue wanted them to book more directly through the venue. How very petty. If you want a hassle free event, please for the sake of other parties involved, do not book this venue. They have fundamental communication issues, lack of empathy and are deliberately difficult.

We had the most friendly and welcoming night, we went for bottomless Eve, 5-7 on a Saturday, what incredible hours for a city, they were constantly asked for more drinks, had the best positively for more drinks and even love music. I can not wait for summer in their most gorgeous beer garden! Highly recommend! Xxx

We were excited to try Bar.code, but unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. Once seated, we were informed of a 45-minute wait for food due to understaffing. Not wanting to have to wait too long we ordered food immediately and let them get on with things whilst we decided what we wanted to drink. While we understood the situation, the wait for food ended up being much longer. Sadly the cocktails weren't great (which probably should have been obvious from the descriptions of the generic alcohol being used) and after a couple we realised that it had already been over an hour since we'd ordered our food. My wife enquired as to what was going on and we were assured that our order was the next being prepared... 15 minutes passed and we were told that our order was being worked on currently... 15 more minutes passed and we were assured that our order was on its way out. We left, explaining our disappointment to a member of staff on the way out. While we appreciate that the restaurant was understaffed, giving customers unrealistic expectations and then failing to deliver on those promises is unacceptable. Whilst we assume this was an isolated incident, we wont be returning to find out.

Came here for bottomless brunch and had a mixed experience. The staff were absolutely amazing — so friendly and attentive, and one waitress in particular couldn’t do enough for us! Service was super quick and made us feel really looked after. Food-wise, I had the paneer “naan-wich” which sounded great on the menu with mango salsa, but it tasted more like caramelised onion chutney. Unfortunately, I wasn’t feeling well after eating it, so that was a bit disappointing. As for drinks, I stuck with the Newport Bramble cocktail. I had around 8 or 9 (yep, I kept count!) and didn’t feel even slightly tipsy — which, as a self-confessed lightweight, felt odd. I noticed they were pouring the same coloured drink into a slush machine, so I’m guessing they weren’t freshly made. They didn’t taste like they had any alcohol in them at all. Didn’t say anything at the time since I was there for someone else’s birthday and didn’t want to make a fuss, but overall it left me questioning the value of the “bottomless” part. Great vibes and staff, but some let-downs on the food and drinks front.

How can somewhere give you so little option for Sunday Lunch but get it so right!! Choice between meat or vegetarian lunch all served with all the trimmings. Choice of a few extra sides, would definitely recommend the cauliflower cheese. The cheese sauce was sensational. Everything was packed with flavour! Cocktails were full or flavour and a good variety. Cannot recommend this place enough for Sunday lunch. Staff were lovely and friendly, happy to help. Will definitely be going back.
