The Turf Hotel is a historic pub located adjacent to the Racecourse Ground, the world's oldest international football stadium. It has been a gathering place for Wrexham AFC fans for over 150 years, making it a central hub for matchday activities. The pub hosts a FanZone during matchdays, offering live music and a festive atmosphere. While it doesn't show live football due to UK broadcasting regulations, it serves as a popular pre- and post-match venue for fans to socialize and enjoy the matchday experience. The Turf's proximity to the stadium and its deep-rooted connection to the club make it a must-visit for both home and away supporters.
I had a great experience at The Turf. I visited the day after watching a football match, and honestly, it’s a place you have to go if you’re in the city. The atmosphere is incredible, full of character and football history. The decoration and overall setting make it feel really special and authentic. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I also had a Kopparberg cider, which was absolutely delicious and the perfect drink to enjoy in such a unique place. Definitely a must-visit spot in Wrexham.
We just had a pint there, barman very friendly. Was very noisy, but friendly atmosphere. Next to the stadium. Not much Football memorabilia inside, if that's what you're after.
Second visit here came as visiting an away Birmingham City fan made to feel very welcome great atmosphere, well decorated pub ,friendly staff and locals and a good drink selection. Birmingham, Wrexham fans and tourists all happily mixing and even the Birmingham owners put money behind the bar for fans to have a drink! Look forward to coming here in future visits to The Racecourse
Lovely pub right next to Wrexham general station. I ordered a coffee and the guy said they didn't sell coffee but he ran outside to one of the food trucks to make me one anyways, great service!! Lovely pub
