📍 0.6 miles from Vicarage Road
In Watford town centre, this Wetherspoon is specifically recommended to visiting supporters and is around a 10-minute walk from Vicarage Road, making it a convenient pre-match stop. It offers cheap food and drink typical of the chain, and the pub’s own listing shows TV screens with TNT Sports, so key televised football is available on matchdays. Together, these make it a practical, neutral meeting point for both home and away fans before heading to the ground.
Decent Spoons this, able to get a seat eventually on a matchday, but it was very busy with home and away fans here. There was a good atmosphere before the game, food still came out relatively quickly given the busyness of the pub too. The burger I got was nice with a decent chip count.
Really nice weatherspoon, staff are helpful and friendly, we had breakfast there which was very tasty, mix up with the way the tables are numbered so we did wait a while, not clearly numbered, but sorted, very clean and a lovely atmosphere
I recently visited The Moon Under Water Wetherspoon pub on Watford High Street for a late lunch with friends and family. The menu is affordable, hearty, and offers a wide variety of options, making it a great choice for both casual dining and pre-drinks in the evening. Orders can be placed directly at the bar or conveniently through the Wetherspoon app online. The meals we ordered were served piping hot and were full of flavour. My friends and family were equally pleased with their dishes and drinks, with everyone commenting on both the quality and value. The pub itself is spacious, with plenty of seating spread across different sections, making it easy to find a table. Despite ordering separately via different devices, all of our food arrived at simlar times at the same table within 10 minutes of ordering, without any complications. The restaurant was also very well maintained, with staff efficiently clearing and sanitising tables after each use. While the atmosphere is lively and often busy meaning it may not be the most relaxing environment it is perfectly suited to those looking for good-value, filling food and a friendly, efficient service. Facilities include standard men’s and women’s restrooms upstairs, as well as an accessible toilet on the ground floor. Overall, The Moon Under Water delivers dependable service, great value for money, and a convenient location, making it a strong choice for anyone seeking casual, affordable dining in Watford.
It’s a Spoons so you know what you are getting. Three things of note: The sausage sandwich tasted great despite looking nothing special It was very busy on a Saturday morning We sat under a telly which was ok until they switched it on at full volume for the football and could no longer hear each other
I paid like £11 for fish and chips totally tasteless small fish, didn't taste fresh, no seasoning, 0 flavour. Had couple of bites left the rest. Milton Keynes branch does an amazing fish and chips big, fresh and really tasty, so Watford was very disappointing. My husband had a tika masala, said was ok but nothing out of this world. The girls who bring plates were nice. Will go again maybe just for drinks. The pub is nice inside.
