📍 1.2 miles from bet365 Stadium
In Stoke town centre and a short walk from Stoke-on-Trent railway station, The King’s Way is handy for matchday trains and shuttle buses. The pub advertises live football (e.g., the Women’s EURO final), so you can catch early or late kick-offs on TV. Multiple sources also note sports TV and that it serves food, with bar snacks and roasts for pre- or post-match bites; a matchday post has even mentioned bacon baps. Overall, it’s a convenient pre-game spot for home supporters heading from the station toward the bet365 Stadium.
Really enjoyed a pint of cider in friendly atmosphere in the White Star. Its nice to see traditional pubs still exist. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon and had a pint of cider only £4. Served by Sarah who was instantly engaging, warm and friendly. She really was great fun and despite being on her own kept the whole bar in order and it was great to chat with some other fabulous characters. Pity i'm going to miss the Elvis tribute this weekend.
I am raising this complaint on behalf of my girlfriend and am extremely concerned by what she has told me about her experience at this pub. She reported that the individual involved, who appeared to be the tenant or person in charge, behaved in a way that she found deeply inappropriate and concerning towards her while she was under 18. She told me that he made inappropriate comments towards her, placed his hand on her back when she stood up, and appeared to try to hug her as she was leaving. She also told me that he was aware she was under 18 and still provided her with alcohol on the premises. If accurate, these are extremely serious safeguarding concerns and should be treated as such. Given that there are two colleges nearby and many under-18 students in the area, this makes the situation even more alarming. In my view, this behaviour is wholly inappropriate, deeply concerning, and should be properly investigated without delay.
Had my gender reveal here on Friday and couldn’t thank Joel enough for how amazing he was behind the bar and how lovely he was with the kids ,was an amazing day would highly recommend this place for your functions
Really good range of pints on tap
New owners are good. Beers are good. Sport on plus disco i think Friday. Bit pricier than other pubs in stoke but for the bit extra I think it's worth it. Haven't had food but everything I have seen looks very nice. Also haven't met a member of staff that isn't really good, nice and welcoming. Definitely dog friendly 👍
