Why it's great for Matchdays
Handy as a pre-match meet because it’s on major bus routes and close to St Denys railway station (about 780m), making travel to and from Southampton easy on matchdays. It’s a large multi-level pub with a big paved garden, so groups can spread out before heading to the game. They also serve hot food (e.g., pizzas/garlic bread), which is useful for a quick bite pre- or post-match.

The prices here are not bad at £4.80 for cocktails and £3 for mocktails. We did find however that these were very sweet from the blue curaçao syrup and it tasted a bit like chemicals. The interior was very nicely decorated however and it was pleasant.
One of the best venues around. Massive outdoor area with pizza shed at the bottom. Great live music with a sound guy to get the sound great. Seen loads of bands here. Very relaxed atmosphere and good value beer prices.
Really nice pub and has good atmosphere, cocktails are nice and the pizzas they do are great. Can recommend it as a social place to have a few drinks
Great place for a gig or a sunny afternoon outside. Lots of seating and cool Tolkien style decor. Drink deals, lots of taps and cocktails. Good gig room and excellent sound with stage and gear store room. Massive outdoor space with seating, covered pool table, ye olde pizza shoppe, an actual castle and boat. Great wee gem in Southampton, you need ID to get in.
Amazing evening, loads of people from different walls of life, felt welcome and comfortable during the whole evening! When we got there the man at the sore told us to go downstairs, which in my head meant a dark and dingy basement area.. turned out to be massive outside area! Complete with a pizza bar and a stage! They have a HUGE selection of interesting cocktails! I had a pink one, a purple one and a blue one and they were all amazing! Love music was amazing and I look forward to going there again! Soon!
