📍 0.9 miles from St. Mary's Stadium
Set in the city centre at Town Quay, Dancing Man Brewery works well as a pre-match meetup before heading to St Mary’s, aligning with away-day advice that most travelling supporters congregate in the city centre then head to the ground nearer kick-off. It’s the club’s local brewery too—Southampton FC confirm Dancing Man pours are available on stadium concourses—so fans can sample the same beers pre- and post-match. The venue serves a full food menu with published kitchen hours, useful for lining up before the game. CAMRA’s listing confirms regular operation, food service times, and easy transport links (close to bus routes and opposite the Isle of Wight ferry), making it practical for supporters arriving by public transport or ferry. Community guidance also notes it as a city-centre spot that takes away fans, supporting a mixed, friendly crowd on matchdays.
The best meal we have had in the UK! What a wonderful place! The building is so beautiful and full of history and the decor is full of knick knacks that keep you interest! Thomas and the rest of the service team are awesome, so friendly, helpful and efficient and the food! The food was awesome! I had the ribs (pic attached) and girlfriend had a burger.... Both were amazing! The ribs were very meaty, tender and had a fantastic marinate! The burger was also reported to be fantastic! Such a great evening.... Thank you!
First of all, the atmosphere inside the store is great, making good use of the old building. The staff are also friendly and provide good customer service. I had the recommended food and beer. It was delicious and the portions were generous. I was visiting Southampton for work and stopped by. I would like to come back next time I come to this city. Thank you for the meal ♪
Unexpected gem!! 😍🤤 I found the dancing man brewery by searching for sour beers. Sadly, there were no sour beers on tonight. However, I was not disappointed due to recommendations from Joey and Tom! The pork chop was absolutely beautiful with a lovely apple sauce embedded within. I asked for a fruity beer and was recommended the pale ale, “mi amiga phantasma” which has notes of passionfruit. It was FAR too drinkable! I also overheard a number of guests talking about the history of the place and also posed a number of questions to Joey and Tom. They were very knowledgeable and pointed out various bit of history of the building. I had a little research online and feel very privileged to have stumbled across this gem 😍 Thank you Tom and Joey!
Absolutely wonderful gem near the docks of Southampton. We went to another pub which will remain nameless which was so lacking in atmosphere and joy. Luckily I remember The Dancing Man and was so happy to realise we were nearby. The beers were fantastic ! We had Voodoo Jazz hat then Jack O Diamonds, deep and coffee scented. Such friendly staff, warm and beautifully lit. Just love the place!
Wonderful location!!! A must visit place in Southampton. We had Sunday roasts with beef and a pint of cider for £30. Love that there were beetroot chunks in the veg bowl!! Great size meal quite filling. I wish the meat was less chewy.
