📍 0.6 miles from MATRADE Loftus Road
Regularly used as the designated away-fans pub for QPR fixtures, Sindercombe Social is around a 15-minute walk to Loftus Road. It shows live football on Sky Sports and TNT Sports on multiple screens, so you can catch early kick-offs before heading to the ground. Fans also report away-ticket checks on the door on matchdays, reinforcing its away-friendly status. With a full pub-food offer for pre-match fueling and a lively setting on Shepherd’s Bush Green, it’s a convenient base for meet-ups and post-match debriefs.
Used to love this place and used to be a really welcoming social space. Their toilets used to read “she / they” and “he / they” above the doors, but upon our last visit yesterday they have covered the “/ they” with framed pictures of Marilyn and Elvis. I sent a message asking why they’d done this, and in response they blocked me. So much for being LGBT+ friendly, they’re clearly not anymore! Also, the old karaoke booth has been removed, and a friend noticed there were signs advertising a 2 for £16 cocktail deal at any time, only to be told at the bar that this wasn’t actually available. Criminally misleading. My queer pals and I will not be returning as we’re clearly not welcome here anymore, and our custom is not wanted. Edit: They recently unblocked me, and when questioned again about this told me “some of your recent comments have been unnecessarily demanding and badly toned. We believe that no single individual can speak for such a diverse community” as if my opinion is not reflected by others here. I’ll leave it to you to decide if my initial review was “unnecessarily demanding” and “badly toned”- my next words may be! They claim to still have inclusive neutral toilets- but these are not signposted anywhere. They have a disabled toilet which needs a radar key to open, so would require outing yourself to staff if this was the supposed gender neutral toilet. They say they will not be reinstating their gender neutral language, but of course, will only say that in private. The Sindercombe would rather silence queer voices than provide an inclusive space. If you are queer, avoid this place 🫶
we had a awesome time last night. halloween theme :) thanks cris for helping us get a great seat for karaoke & with getting on the free wifi. love the pinball too!
Quick bar service and hardworking staff but the positives end there. We played a gig here and remembered it fondly as a queer and trans positive venue and this is a main reason we came back to celebrate a birthday here. Very disappointed to see the gender neutral toilets that used to have "he/they" and "she/they" signs above them have now had the "they" parts covered up with posters. A pointless exclusionary regression - there is no separate gender neutral toilet available for use, so this is a clear message that my community is not welcome at this establishment anymore. I don't see how the previous signage was confusing to anyone, as there was still a clear demarcation of male and female toilets, but it was nice to see gender fluidity being accepted as well. Enforcing gendered bathrooms as a default after previously providing accomodations is regressive and unkind to the trans community. However the venue seems more than happy playing music from queer artists. Our culture is not yours to selectively pick and choose which bits are palatable and fun. Unfortunately this venue has lost us as customers, which is a shame because we had very positive things to say before these changes were implemented.
Went for a little pre-gig drink and food. The pale ale was nice and I appreciated the steak-sandwich with the option to swap the fries for a grain/chickpea salad. The description sounded like it would be more tomato heavy, but it wasn't. Steak size was smallish but cooked well and the bun was fluffy and crispy and condiments worked well together. All together, perfect starter before the gig next door.
Have been coming here for years and it’s my go-to whenever I come back to Shepherd’s Bush. Great atmosphere and good range of beers.
