📍 1.3 miles from Deepdale
Opposite Preston railway station on Fishergate, The Old Vic is a convenient city-centre pub for supporters arriving by train. It shows live sport across multiple TVs, including Sky Sports and BT/TNT Sports, making it a practical spot to catch early or late kick-offs. Away-day guides list it among pubs on the route from the station to Deepdale, so it’s commonly used by travelling fans as well as home supporters. CAMRA’s WhatPub also notes it can get busy on weekends and highlights its proximity to transport, reinforcing its usefulness pre- and post-match.
Stopped off for brunch before heading home. Shame we did not find this pub on day 1. The breakfast with toast was excellent value at £6. Some different beers on tap from normal with the stout from Bolton being very nice.
Good pub full of locals, lovely staff, good beer, close to the railway station - it even has a screen showung live train departures. It is a big venue and is likely to always have seating.
Making only my second visit to Preston town centre. Came for a footie game at Deepdale many years ago. Popped into this CAMRA 2024 entry pub close to the railway station. So close that they have a departure board for said station. Very good value food. Visited with Madge and Jorvic. Proper and large pub with covered outdoor area to the rear. Jorvic had a pint of Stanley's 3.8% pale from Kirkby Lonsdale brewery. One of five available on handpump. Very good. Lots of TV'S. A little bit shabby in places but Madge likes it. Might be back for breakfast tomorrow!
Wow, great food at brilliant prices. Don't know how they do it. Great range of ales, lagers etc. Lovely friendly staff.
We often call in here waiting for a bus or train, first time we saw they had food. Ordered steak pudding and chips which was perfect. Cheap and cheerful just what we needed.
