Handy for matchdays if you want to watch games and get fed: the pub advertises Sky & TNT Sports for live sport, and it runs full food service with a detailed main menu and Sunday roasts. It serves real ale, with CAMRA noting changing ales that typically include Thwaites and a house ‘Hunters Ale’, and recent check-ins show Thwaites beers pouring. It’s located just off the A6 near the Capitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale, which is convenient for drivers heading to or from Preston on a game day.
Massive car park with plenty of room for motorhomes. Just go and have a drink or food in the restaurant and it's free to stay in a camper or motorhome. Very quiet in the evening but did hear a train in the distance. Worth calling ahead just to confirm.
The Hunter's Pub & Dining, located north of Lostock Hall at a short drive from the capitol centre, has had a lot of development over recent years. Personally, I think it delivers both a vibrant and inviting experience. The cozy dining area offers multiple booths that feel comfortable and spacious. I am impressed by the pleasant atmosphere and enjoyable social energy of the place. The customer service is usually attentive and genuinely friendly. From my perspective, the staff go out of their way to make the guests feel welcome. As for the food, the selection is not what it has been in previous years, but generally I feel that it is of a satisfactory quality. In my opinion, the Irish-themed bar area and sports coverage is another major highlight. With multiple screens and clear views from every seat, it is worth a visit for a great match-day atmosphere. Despite this, the costs of the food and drinks run a bit steep for most people and I believe this is the main drawback. Overall, despite the high prices, The Hunter's Pub & Dining offers a memorable and engaging experience, whether it be for a family meal or a night out with friends.
Not been for years, just called in for a late lunch. Service excellent, food great, unfortunately I feel the drinks prices are too high (11.20 for a coke and pint of Moretti lager) compared to other pubs with similar quality of food. Would have been 5 stars if not for the drinks prices
The Hunters is a hidden gem offering dining experience in a cozy atmosphere. The warm, wood-paneled decor and inviting ambiance perfectly complement the restaurant’s name. The staff are friendly and attentive, making guests feel welcome. Our server, Jonnie, was very helpful with my dairy allergy, advising me on what to eat and ensuring a safe and enjoyable meal. With great service, food (which is fairly expensive) and a welcoming atmosphere, The Hunters is a must-visit.
Lots of thought has been given to this pub to create a really nice, inviting atmosphere and features which includr stainless steel 'beer keg urinals and wash basin, very clever stuff. It was jam packed on this Mothers day Sunday but the service was excellent with reasonable waiting times between placing our order and the 1st course arriving and between courses. Many of the staff were young but provided excellent, professional customer service. The food is excellent to the point where we asked for the recipe for the Salt and Pepper chicken starter. The meal portions are generous so best to 'pace' yourself if you want a pudding ( I look forward to trying the Limincelo Tiramisu). A good varied menu is likely to please all customers incuding the childrens menu. The free parking coped with a very busy lunch time
