Called in on Sunday evening 11/01/2026 at 19.30 with my wife when we stayed one night in the nearby Premier Inn. Parking was plentiful and free. Greeted by very friendly staff Leah, Rob and Tom. Really cosy atmosphere inside and had that old fashioned feel that a Northern pub is known and loved for. Great selection of beers on draft and in bottles and not pricey at all. We both ordered the sirloin steak and glad we did. Not very often you can eat every scrap with no fat or gristle and cooked to perfection. The breaded fried onions were delicious as was the whole dish. Thanks to the kitchen staff, Bran, Connor and Tracy. 👏👏👏👏👏👏. Will definitely call in again if we’re ever in the area. X
Good place . Bug Malcom they welcome you with open arms (dog poo nugget outside ). However more mash could have been included.it took 25 minutes and 11.24 seconds (12 minutes faster then the Swan and Goose bug would be thrilled) Ps beware of the unstable menus supported by only a bottle of ketchup.
Great service by Katie, Megan and Rob and nice atmosphere. We had 3 roast dinners, including the trio and none of us could finish our meals despite our best efforts.
Just popped in for an impromptu lunch by myself while passing. Order via table service, both food and drink arrived in really good time. Was told the fish was battered and made fresh to order, tasty mushy peas (not bland like you usually get), super impressed with flavours, service and atmosphere of the place. Will certainly be back with the family. Thank you very much 😋😋
If I could put 0 oh I would for starters 45 minutes just for a main course and this is what they sent me the waitress was the rudest women I’ve ever met in my life will never return here again ordered a gammon and look what I got sent
