Very friendly local pub. Passed by as part of a pub crawl with a friend but ended up staying the whole night because the atmosphere was so welcoming. The owner even arranged a taxi back to our hotel for us at the end of the night. Friendly Welsh barmaid recognised my faint Welsh accent despite me living in Ireland for the past 25 years :-)
Went and reported on Portsmouth vs Wycombe on the final day of the season, and after the game, was invited to try the Newcome out to see a few friends. A very lively atmosphere, friendly staff, plenty of TVs to watch the football, and some funny punters.
Just a proper old pub. How pubs should be.
Best local pub to be in Fratton. Can go for a quiet pint or a good night with friends or family. Even better on Pompey home games. It’s the place to be as the atmosphere is amazing.
