Classic pub in a classic pub town. Excellent beer selection. Drenched in history, hence the name although it is officially the Gardeners arms. Lots of quirky corners and nooks. Well known for is sports coverage. Really well maintained with great decor. Top landlord and host, Phil.
Love this pub, good beers, awesome staff, the spin to win is a nice touch! Throw 2 dice when you buy drinks, if its a double you fet 25% off tge round, get a double 6 the round us free! Love a little no lose gamble! I got 2 4's so a cheap round, got to laugh! The Oatmeal stout is yummy, been coming here for years, every time we visit norwich, it's old! Wooden beams, carvings, awesome food, well worth a visit!
Love this pub. Always stop here whenever I'm in Norwich no matter what I'm doing. The pub is always clean, has great character, lots of tables and a great selection on draught. I always come here for half a Blue Moon - I never usually see it on tap and it's one of my favourites (served with an orange every time). I've never had the food, just come here for pints but from what I can see and smell it always looks great, like classic pub food. Highly recommend - I'm very loyal to this pub. If you like your history also, it's great to look around especially at the interior with the "murderers" theme.
I think this plate is quite small, and the fries take up half of the space. I wanted to eat the meat first, but there was no room to cut it. I ended up accidentally flicking the fries onto the ground.I absolutely didn't cheat anyone. Your plate should be bigger. When I was cutting the meat, the fries accidentally shot out and stained my clothes
A year or so ago I came to Norwich for the first time with my friends. After hearing our favourite podcasters talk about how much they loved the murderers, we of course had to have a look. I can happily say it’s a very lovely place. We spoke to a guy behind the bar about said podcast and he loved the fact he got so many fans coming in. Turns out this man was the famous Phil (the owner)!! He even showed us around and told us all about the history of the place, he was genuinely a great guy. We stayed for some food and then bought some merch!! A few months later, I ended up moving down to Norwich from Manchester because I loved Norwich so much. One day I found myself stuck in the centre with a dead phone battery and no money. I tried to look around the city for a place to charge my phone. As expected, most places said no. Losing hope, I walked up to the murderers. I asked one of the bartenders and he instantly said yes and put my phone on charge. As I stood there waiting nervously around a group of grown men watching football, the bartender asked if I wanted some water or anything. He made me feel very comfortable. I’ve never written a review for any place so you know this is truly meaningful. I fully recommend this pub.
