The pub looks very inviting from the outside, and it doesn’t disappoint inside. The staff are a very welcoming, such a beautiful pub. Popped in for a quick drink, had soup and pate spread. Both tasty and well presented. Returned in the evening and had a meal by the open fire. Absolutely stunning. The Steak and Ale pie we both chose was really good, no scrimping on the steak. Can’t say how much we enjoyed it, wish it was my local!
We popped in for lunch. We didn't book as it was a random day. However they accommodated us. And made changes to the meals as required for my daughter. Also a nice selection of non alcoholic beverages. I had to leave and collect my daughter and left my grandmother here, and Ellie made sure the food was kept warm until I got back. Very helpful staff and Ellie was very attentive =)
Amazing staff, super friendly and helpful. Lovely outside space. Food was excellent, generous portions in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended for family’s, couples and dog lovers. No question, this is top 5 pub meals in and around Norwich.
Booked for 2, (a bit last minute!) on a Sunday for lunch, requesting a quieter table if possible. We were sat in a good spot near a divider and only 1 directly nearby table, which was greatly appreciated and the speakers were off during this service (usually on for evening, but not too loud). The atmosphere is cosy - no harsh lighting or crowding of tables. Service was pleasant and efficient, even during a busy service. No observed delays or issues (for us or nearby tables). Food today was absolutely lovely and ample portions. Everything was flavoured/paired really nicely and seasoned well, and arrived warm. I had a lamb lunch roast with added stuffing and veg, my partner the trio selection of roast meats and some extras. We shared the side plates and both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. And daring a dessert, my partner enjoyed the mini brownie (fudgy centre and warm), and I the bourbon apple tatin which was incredible. Left delighted, having had a great time and will of course be back in future.
I ordered food from you yesterday after hearing great things about the service and the food and I must admit I was very disappointed with the food I received. I was happy to pay the £70+ for three roasts expecting it to be as amazing as I was told and the reality was very different. There were no roast potatoes in any of the boxes, the food was cold and 90% of the dish was soggy carrots and bitter, overcooked greens. We had 6 roast potatoes for 3 people because I ordered an extra side (given how much we love the potatoes). Honestly I am even more disappointed that the food somehow came from Tobys carvery and there was no support for this from Deliveroo, who told me to contact you directly… I am not one to complain but given how much I paid, I’d have expected to at least get some potatoes with my meal and not what I actually got… obviously I am aware some items do not travel well but this was way beyond the travel/packaging. We waited so long for the food we decided to eat anyway and I didn’t get a chance to record the rest or the meal, as I was honestly shocked… even the Yorkshire puddings were totally flat, apart from the one in the photo, that was on the top of the bag…
