We were out doing a walking tour of Norwich and needed some refreshments and walked by the Coach and Horses and walked in. Just perfect, like your local. We had a cider and an ale and for a late lunch we had baked Brie, patatas bravas ( my favourite) and prawns. Exactly what we were looking for.
A great pub in the heart of a wonderful city. Highly recommend.!! Great Tapas
The team was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful. They helped me organize my birthday and made everything so easy with every possible accommodation. The food was absolutely delicious, and the place itself is wonderful. I’m honestly not sure if I keep coming back because of the amazing staff or because it’s such a great place! Rea and Jess thank you!!
I often come to the coach for drinks, and previously had a good experience with food as well, but tonight had a bad experience. I ordered the Gochujang wings, but had to wait about an hour and 10- after asking, I was told that they had tried to give them to my table (50) but no one was there. This wasn’t true as I was there, and when I wasn’t my friends were. I was then told they’d get them out to me in 10 mins. So I waited, in the end 25 mins, and finally got the wings when i went to the bar to ask for the 3rd time. The chap from the kitchen with the stretchers sarcastically said something to the effect of ‘there’s your wings!’ - after a massive wait compared to what I had when I ate there before. The girls on the bar were nice and helpful but the wait was unnecessarily long. To be fair, the food was nice and beer was good too, but disappointed with service from kitchen team. I will come back as I’ve been coming here since I was about 13, with my old man before the football, but definitely disappointed with the service and lack of communication.
I’ve always enjoyed coming to this pub for drinks. However, I made the mistake of trying their Sunday roast, and I was extremely disappointed. First off, the peas were uncooked and crunchy—almost as if they had just been defrosted and put on the plate. The Yorkshire pudding was flat, burnt, and unappetising. Honestly, I was shocked the chef thought it was acceptable to serve it like that. Considering how cheap and easy to serve a Yorkshire pudding right! That Yorkshire pudding tells a lot about the kitchen on its own. The meat portion was small, and to make matters worse, it was overcooked to the point of being dry and tough. A roast dinner is supposed to be hearty and comforting, but this was anything but. I’d still recommend this place for its drinks and ambiance, but I won’t be ordering food here again. If they can’t get a basic Sunday roast right, I don’t have much confidence in the rest of the menu.
