Lovely woman behind the bar. Great food, I had the salt beef. Quiet but good atmosphere, a locals bar. Main menu it written on a board outside everyday.
What a fantastic gem! The landlord is of a disappearing generation of people who adores what he does and had an infectious enthusiasm that adds hugely to the enjoyment. Huge (6+) real cider selection, only two real ales - but Harveys counts as 4 in my book! Only had beer, but they do have food including homemade pies!
Some friends & I visited this pub on a cold Tuesday night and it was fantastic. Beautiful old pub where everything is done right - from the service to the decor. We all ate there - the pie was delicious and it’s worth going there for the hand cooked chips alone. We also had the sharing platter which was huge (and delicious). People need to support pubs like this because they are getting scarcer and scarcer.
Very nice atmosphere and nice drinks, food is exactly what you'd expect, good service
We walked to this pub after touring the Tower Bridge. They had the best fish and chips that we had in the city! Wonderful people working there. After spending most of our visit near Charing Cross, it was great to find a real, local place.
