Quite on a Sunday around lunchtime in early Jan. We only had drinks. My hot chocolate was cold. It seemed like a proper hot chocolate though and not just a Cadbury's powdered chocolate. They do Italian food, including gluten free pizza, tiramisu, seafood pasta and pork shank. There is live music on particular evenings. Usually it's jazz music. It's a quirky pub and a museum pub. There's a rhino head up. Follow on IG for more travel and food and drink tips, ideas and reviews @one.more.step.along.the.world
Loved the quirky decor - the pub is chockablock with interesting bits that the owners picked in their travels. Add in multiple fires, comfy armchairs, and long (delicious!) pizzas 🍕 and you’ve got yourself a winner.
We agreed an arrival time but there was no one there so I had to go to a pub down the road to wait. The room is quirky as is the pub but not pleasant. Walls are a mishmash of woodchip and bare plaster. Toilet stained. Water mark on the wall in the toilet. Shower had mould and felt like the base was going to break. No hot water. No TV or drinks facilities in the room because the tap water says it’s not drinking water. There’s a kitchen outside room 3 where people were making drinks and food at 5.40am. The walls are so thin you can hear people fart from the other side. I would have complained on my way out but there was no one there so I had to let myself out of the pub and post the keys through the door. Coming back at night after the pub shuts it weird because you have the key to the pub so you help yourself to anything if you were that way inclined. I had so much expectation because the pictures looked great but it was very disappointing. The only plus point is that I was due to stay for 3 nights last year and I had to cancel at late notice which I felt glad about but I’m glad we cancelled now.
Living locally, this is one of our favourite pubs in Greenwich, and perhaps the best for food. Pietro and family provided a truly Italian family welcome and the food is freshly cooked, authentic and reasonably priced. Live music on Sunday afternoons. Always a lovely atmosphere!
They had the best authentic Italian pizza I've ever had! Also, I don't really like mayo, and I've never heard of mayo on garlic bread but holy cow, it was delicious!!! I can't wait to come back the next time I'm visiting! Owners were so sweet and accommodating! Such a cute place overall.
