Great traditional old pub with some great history. Inside you can see the historic features. Staff were friendly, welcoming and eager to provide a good service. Good was lovely, the Steak and Ale pie is highly recommended. Would return and recommend.
This is the kind of place where you pop in “for one” drink and somehow leave two hours later feeling warm, fed, and suspiciously cheerful. An other great pub in central London. I would recommend to try either a Camden Hell or beaver townbeer for full immersion. They have also snacks and food. I ordered the classic meat pie ; gravy and mashed potatoes- it was good; but not my favourite. The atmosphere is just fun and waiters very nice.
Food appears to be standard menu of the Nicholson group that owns chain of pubs so nothing amazing. Staff are super friendly. Fantastic atmosphere and we went back every night we were in London. Live music was fantastic Friday and Saturday!
We came to this place to try fish and chips and ordered one big portion to share. The fish was very good, it was almost melting in the mouth, the curry sauce addition was a great choice because it elevated the dish to the next level. The pub was very cozy and the atmosphere was nice. The area is split to a dining one and the bar. Overall I would recommend this pub for a dinner or even just a quick drink.
Excellent service - very knowledgeable about their beer selections. Wide range of good work(e)ys. Different ciders available. Good range of delicious things to eat. Pies to die for... Good and well cooked veg, too. Ok...deserts. BAM!
