About this Pub

The Infant Hercules Micropub
A proven matchday hub in Middlesbrough town centre: CAMRA/WhatPub note it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Riverside Stadium, roughly 600m from Middlesbrough railway station, and that matchdays see both home and away supporters meeting here before and after games. They also record early opening on matchday Saturdays (and extended Sunday hours when Boro are at home), making it a handy pre-game stop or post-match pint within walking distance of the ground and transport.

Do love a micropub and this didn't disappoint at all. It's definitely micro but was very busy. Warm welcome, nice selection of drinks with something for most peoples tastes. Atmosphere good with what I assumed are local folks chatting. Really pleasant visit.

Argyle on tour!! Up early to catch the 0527 train from Plymouth. Just beaten the Boro and found this lovely pub. Liz and "Antoine" were super hosts. Talked to 4 lovely Boro fans for a couple of hours and drank an Amber ale called Nethergate Venture.... Such a friendly pub with probably the weirdest name. Relates to the youngest miner to go down the Pits? I think....!! Anyway brilliant.....loved this wonderful day...

Popped in for a quick pint before Dave Gorman at the Town Hall. Very friendly and nice beers selection. One of those great little pubs where there is always someone to talk to. ❀️ Back in on Easter Thursday. Had a great chat with the owner and a traveller from Norway who was a Football Ground Hopper. Updated rating to 5 🌟.
