About this Pub

The Neptune
A long-standing Derby County base, The Neptune is described by CAMRA/WhatPub as having a major football focus and being the home supporters’ pub when Derby play at Pride Park, as well as a meeting point for away travel. It’s highlighted by local media as a recommended place to watch Rams away matches on TV, and WhatPub lists Sports TV. It opens early (from 6am), which is useful for early kick-offs. The CAMRA Derby Drinker feature notes substantial Rams memorabilia and that coaches depart from here for away games, underlining its matchday role. It’s a city-centre spot about a 20-minute walk to Pride Park, and is widely noted as popular with home fans.

I had a wonderful time at The Neptune in Derby. This charming, small pub offers a cozy and intimate atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I enjoyed a refreshing Coors, which was perfectly chilled and served with a smile. The pub may be small, but it’s full of character and friendly people, both patrons and staff alike. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. The locals add to the warm vibe, creating a relaxed and enjoyable environment. It’s the kind of place where you can easily strike up a conversation and make new friends. Overall, The Neptune is a hidden gem in Derby, offering a great selection of drinks in a cozy setting. It’s perfect for a casual night out or a quick stop for a refreshing drink. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a friendly, down-to-earth pub experience. Five stars all the way!
