The Bell & Castle

📍 1.4 miles from Pride Park Stadium

About this Pub

The Bell & Castle
A useful Rams-friendly city-centre option before or after a game. Reviews note TVs showing live sport, so you can catch early kick-offs or results around your fixture. The pub serves meals (including stone-baked pizzas) and is known for Sunday lunches, giving fans a proper feed on matchdays. It has hosted a live Derby County supporters’ podcast event, signalling a home-fan leaning atmosphere. Practicalities are good too: there’s an NCP car park about a minute away, handy if you’re driving in for Pride Park. Altogether, it’s a solid Derby base for pre-match pints, food and football on TV.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Bell & Castle pub in Derby. This cozy spot offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a night out with friends or a relaxed evening alone. The highlight for me was the perfectly poured Guinness, served from their charming vintage taps. It’s a rare find, and it truly made the experience special. The beer garden is a gem, spacious and beautifully maintained, providing a great place to enjoy a drink outdoors. The pub’s effort to broadcast the Olympics on large, high-quality screens was a fantastic touch, making it the ideal spot to catch all the action while enjoying the lovely summer weather. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe of the place. Whether you're a local or just passing through Derby, Bell & Castle is a must-visit. The combination of great drinks, a pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service makes it deserving of a full five stars. Highly recommend!

Lovely little pub. Went for a beer with a colleague and it had a very nice feel to it and had a nice traditional environment. Beer was reasonably priced.

"Chris! What the hell you doing here?" I asked presently surprised "Ain't seen you in yonks." "I have been hiding Rog..." as always mispronouncing my simple 2 syllables name. "Had a bit of a problem down there." (Down there a polite reference to the pub we frequented regularly for years. The pub is very busy and very clean. A very friendly clientele. It was good to see my old friend and catch up.
