📍 1.0 miles from Pride Park Stadium
City-centre spot with live Premier League and European football shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, so you can watch early kick-offs or the late game. It’s only about 600m from Derby railway station for an easy pre-match meet, and Libero Guide notes it’s roughly a 20-minute walk to Pride Park. The pub is reported to be busy on Derby County matchdays, and there are multiple screens to follow the action. Food is served daily with full menus, useful for lining up before heading to the ground or staying on for the late TV match.
Came for a Sunday roast after been shopping in the centre, had a lovely roast beef dinner and the gravy was very tasty. Lovely staff very welcoming great hosts lots of parking available at the back of the pub. But I came on public transport which is easy to get to from shopping centre.
Had a great experience here! The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone was attentive, patient, and genuinely happy to help, which made the whole visit even better. You can really tell they care about their customers. Highly recommend!
⭐ Not Recommended We arrived for food at 7:10pm and had to ask for menus, which were handed over with nothing more than a grunt. Not exactly the welcome you hope for when you come out for a meal. The woman who appeared to be the cook was abrupt and noticeably rude, giving the impression that our presence was an inconvenience. What made things even more concerning was that she had been handling and stroking a dog just moments before we ordered. When we went to order drinks, the bar experience was no better. We asked for a large bottle of red wine, only to be told they had none and wouldn’t until the supplier delivered next Wednesday. We then asked for a large bottle of rosé, also none. And they don’t stock large bottles of white. We settled for a small Chardonnay, but the wine glasses were filthy. Two had to be returned immediately because they were genuinely a health hazard. Instead of cleaning the dirty glasses, the young man picked up individual ones, checked them, and put the dirty ones straight back on the shelf. I asked for a tall glass instead, those were dirty too. When it came to the food, things didn’t improve. The meals were poor quality and very small portions. I ordered the hunter’s chicken: the chicken was dry, the barbecue sauce was cold, and the cheese wasn’t even melted. I didn’t touch the chips after finding two small hairs in them. We then asked about desserts, since we’d barely eaten our mains, only to be told the kitchen had closed at 7:50pm. The atmosphere wasn’t what I expected either. With no background music or general ambience, the only noise came from the staff chatting among themselves. This place genuinely has potential, which is why this visit was such a disappointment. Compared to previous visits, this experience makes it clear we won’t be returning.
What an absolute gem of a place. Only popped in for 1 but ended up having a couple with the hubby. Staff so friendly and welcoming and made us feel like we've been drinking in there for years. Very clean and welcoming and drinks were crisp ,clean and cold. Will definitely be popping back in next weekend. Will probably try the food next week. Thank you for making us feel welcome
Atmosphere was fine, there were very long pauses between songs playing. Service was good, staff are friendly and approachable. Food was lovely but noticed the cucumber was past it's best. Overall happy to return.
