📍 1.2 miles from Pride Park Stadium
The Exeter Arms is recommended to visiting supporters and is within walking distance of Pride Park. Swansea City’s official 2019–20 away guide lists the Exeter Arms among pubs recommended for away fans and notes it’s around a 15-minute walk to the stadium. CAMRA’s WhatPub confirms regular cask ales (including Dancing Duck and Marston’s Pedigree) and specifically notes high-quality food is served, making it a reliable pre-match stop for a proper meal and pint. Fulham Supporters’ Trust also records that the pub has served Fulham fans in the past, reinforcing its track record of welcoming away support.
After looking at other Google reviews we stopped off for a bite to eat on my way through Derby. We weren't disappointed. The food is excellent, the home made burger was delicious. My only criticism is a personal preference, a little too much salt on the chips. Other that that it was delicious.
Quick pitstop after seeing so many positive comments and reviews plus award winning pub. Lovely atmosphere. Chilled music. Excellent selection of beers and real ales. Didn't eat but the menu looks excellent and very reasonably priced. Their chip wrecked dirty fries at only a fiver looked incredibly appetizing and great value. We'll be back for food next time!
We made a reservation over the phone the day before because this place tends to get busy. We showed up at the door and stood for a while there like lemons. One particular guy wearing a black shirt, part of the kitchen staff just kind of stood in the kitchen occasionally glancing at us through the window like a simpleton. Once we were finally seated and ordered we were told the wait for food will be up to 40 minutes which is pretty crazy. I had the royal kebab for £20.50. Very pricey but ultimately worth it. Some of the fries were a bit overdone and a little hard. The default sauces were an interesting choice, guacamole and tzatziki. I didn't think the latter worked so well. The skewers consisted of three meats with different marinades, chicken, beef and pork. The pork was dry and it was hard to detect the jerk seasoning. The beef was very good, well roasted and the middle eastern seasoning was not bad. The chicken was incredible and the seasoning/marinade, a Korean something was really good. The skewers also came with mushrooms and peppers, the former of which was really good too. Ultimately while the kitchen staff/waiter were clueless and the wait was very long and we were sat next to a big table with loud voiced cackling women, the royal kebab was really good and totally defied my expectations (mostly that chicken). Also my friend had the vegetarian tajine and found it to be mediocre.
Nothing but high praise for the Exeter Arms , good service , lovely atmosphere, and superb food. This was our first visit but we certainly will return. Great value and a relaxed night out. Mains are around £18 but worth every last penny. Note : book in advance if you want food at the weekend. Highly recommended.
Popped in here for a quick drink on the way to the cricket ground. The smell of home cooked food when we walked in was heavenly. The staff were lovely and very helpful when trying to decide on a drink to have, and the food was absolutely outstanding!! We were recommended this place by some locals who we spoke to and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal with brilliant service.
