Fantastic proper pub, good food & great drinks variety & prices. The staff are all lovely and always happy to help. The festive menu is great value & very tasty, especially the chocolate fudge cake.
Visited the Bull & Anchor on Wheelwright Lane recently and was thoroughly impressed. • The Food: Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection. You can tell they care about the quality they put out. • The Service: This is where the pub truly shines. The staff are incredibly hardworking and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to find a team that is both professional and so genuinely friendly. A great local spot with a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be back!
Visiting from Portsmouth, absolutely amazing service and the food was fantastic. I had a cheese & bacon burger that came out with mayo on (I hadn’t specified no mayo - my fault.) and they had a new one cooked and delivered to me in no time, no fuss. So grateful. My daughter who struggles eating at restaurants because of venturing outside her “safe foods” demolished the sausage and mash kids meal. Overall wonderful experience. Will be back before we go home and again next year!
We went at 5pm the meals were beautiful. Also we had desserts . We revisited because the last time we had a meal . The england Rugby was on and we were very over looked as we were sat by a table right in front of a Tv. And the other people sitting at there table had turned there chairs round i felt very uneasy. I spoke to the manager ,because she asked if she could ring me to explain that how busy it was ,she couldnt apologise enough. she was so friendly and helpful. So we went back tonight . And the service and the food was beautiful. For the price is value for money. The food always comes out hot. And your not waiting ages for food like you do in other places. Plenty of room to sit and have meals. Thankyou to the staff. Thankyou to the chefs great service 👏
Words alone can not explain how amazement. The food here is so so good. They have 100% out done themselves on their food at this visit. I even enjoyed the kids nuggets, imagine that. Definitely recommend. Reserving a table is advisable, though not mandatory. We just walked in and got a place, but safer to book. Thank you to the staff for all thier collective work.
