This review is for The Station Pub (Food only Review - No stay) February 2026: This is located just next to Hither Green train station and has been on my list to visit. The restaurant has a large seating space, both indoors and outdoors. We visited it on a Sunday late afternoon. Just walked in and got a table. We ordered all vegetarian food - Garlic Rosemary Focaccia: It came with garlic butter and was so fresh and delicious. The best we have tried so far. Roast cauliflower soup: This was ok Garlic Pizza bread: Good but comes at a steep price of £15 and small in size Wellington Roast (£20): So this is a vegetarian roast and it was too salty. The veggies and potatoes that came with it were too oily. A waste of money and quite pricey for a vegetarian roast. Would definitely not recommend. The service is very casual. The ambience is nice. It felt good to ait inside during day time as there was lot of light because of the windows.
We really loved my stay at The Station. It was perfect for our weekend visiting friends and family in the area. Easy to get to and from Marylebone on train and the hotel is a 2 minute walk from Hither Green train station. 20 mins door to door to London Bridge Station. The area is lovely with a couple of nice restaurants, cafes, a craft beer bar, and a Sainsbury's. The pub itself is spacious and nicely decorated with a good outside area, we didn't eat there, but enjoyed a drink. Staff were lovely and check in and check out was straightforward. It's super dog friendly if we need to stay again and bring our pups too. Room was clean, large bed, good shower, and enough space for us. Decent tv and hot drinks on offer. Large window overlooking quiet high street. The room was hot, but we had a powerful fan to keep us cool. The only reason I didn't give the room a 5 is because there were a couple of bits that needed fixing, but it really didn't bother us too much. Also, we put the sign on the door to say we were in the room, but cleaners came in anyway. Was unnecessary, but, again, we didn't really mind too much.
Not the first time we have stayed here, I almost don’t want to review this place because I want it to be our little secret! It is the best place I have stayed in in London by far. I am sure if you want to spend a fortune you can have an equally lovely time elsewhere but this place is just special. The pub is lovely. It has a lovely atmosphere, great staff, is clean and modern and has a great vibe. Food is lovely (although we did prefer the older menu which was more pub grub!) . The rooms are above the pub. They are all individually named and decorated. All are modern, clean and to a high spec. The bathrooms have gorgeous products to use and you even get free brownies with your tea and coffee! |We would love to come back some time soon if we can, can’t recommend this hotel enough - but actually don’t stay here, we want to keep it all to ourselves!
Freddie was an amazing host today. Went out of his way to try and find us a table (5 walk ins). Very caring and entertaining! Loved everything about our visit today! Putting the football on when we were eating was a brilliant touch! Always a great time at the station 😊thank you all!
We booked for lunch for a party of 11 (8 adults, 3 children). I had pre-warned that the three children would need high chairs and yet when we arrived for our 12noon booking the server who brought high chairs over when we asked did so with a face of thunder. At 12.20 we still hadn’t been given menus, asked about drinks or even really been said hi to. We managed to catch the eye of a lovely server who speedily got kids food arranged and went away to see why we hadn’t been given anything. Kids food arrived about 15 minutes later and they tucked in. We still didn’t have menus. We were told that the chef had arrived late and they were printing menus. We finally managed to order around 12.45, by which time kids were nearly done. Our food then arrived after 1.30. With a 12noon booking this is unacceptable. The food itself was delicious but the service from everyone except the one wonderful lady (Andrea) was non-existent. Half our party had to leave before dessert as the kids had lost the plot. To put the cherry on the cake the £90 deposit we had to pay to reserve the table wasn’t removed from the bill so we had to go through the hassle of requesting it to be refunded. By that point we just wanted to get out.
