The best board game cafe in London. Incredible selection of games and the food is delicious and incredibly well priced. Going to to a few of these kinds of cafes in London, Badger Badger stands out both in ambience, game selection and also how good the food is. Our favourite dishes are the Pork Belly rice Box and Chicken Karage. If you’re ever in need for Game Recommendations, Eva is your guide through the vast multiverse of possibilities. Eva’s thorough knowledge of games and its rules is quite remarkable. Eva’s clarity in teaching the rules to play Azul in 10 minutes saved us so much time having to trying to figure it out. Highly recommended place. And also really friendly staff. You won’t be disappointed.
Badger Badger seemed like a very nice boardgame cafe, and somewhere I'd like to come to again to fully experience. I arrived at around 9pm, the place closes at 11, and boardgames are charged at £8.50 for 3 hours of play. Opting against paying for 3 hours and only using 2, I chose instead to pay cards (free) and drink a couple of pints (not free but understandable). The Guinnesses I had were nice enough, service was friendly and everyone around us seemed to be happy to be playing boardgames in a nice environment on a Tuesday night. They appeared to have a good range here. They also sold boardgames and a range of other similar products in the boardgame area. Food looked quite good here but I didn't have any. The toilets were satisfactory.
This is truly an incredible board game place. Amazing atmosphere and food, with really friendly hosts. Eva in particular was a brilliant host. Extremely attentive, helpful and knowledgeable on all the games, giving us great suggestions. Looking forward to learning more from them in future socials!
I loved the concept. Unfortunately the delivery was hot and cold. When we arrived without a booking on Saturday we were laughed at, a lot… “no booking on a Saturday? Hahahahahaha” I mean, yes we knew we were pushing our luck to not have one but were willing to try. As it happened one of your other more polite members of staff took us through to the bar side where there was actually loads of available tables, and we had one to use for 3 hours with board games. So I’m not sure what the fuss was about. I work in hospitality and this is not the way to greet customers. Some restraint and work on manners wouldn’t go amiss. After the cold reception, the table itself was pretty cold with the air con, but that aside the rest of the night was really enjoyable. The beer was good, the team explains the games were great and helped guide us to an appropriate match for our group ability and willingness… And then I ordered a few bits to eat which were reasonably priced and tasted great. Even swapped my order without a moments fuss when I’d clicked on the wrong item on the QR code menu. Overall a great night and would have been 5* had it not been for the really awful introduction, which left me feeling put down and belittled.
A relaxed bar and café on Deptford High Street. Offers a good selection of craft beers, natural wines, and cocktails. The food menu includes small plates and snacks, with vegan options available. The atmosphere is laid-back, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Occasionally hosts live music and community events. Service is friendly, though it can get busy during peak times.
