Hort’s Townhouse is a central Bristol pub with screens for live sport — the venue explicitly says it will be “showing every bit of the action” for major tournaments, and third-party listings note Sky Sports and TNT Sports availability. With breakfast, lunch and dinner service and clearly published food times, it works as a pre- or post-match spot. Bristol City’s own away-fan guidance states that away supporters are welcome in city-centre pubs; Hort’s positions itself right in the heart of the city, making it a convenient neutral meet-up before heading to the ground or back into town after full-time.
Amazing stay! Stayed in a bigger boutique room, which was immaculate and lovely thoughtful bits left for us. Food and drinks were amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Will absolutely be booking to come back. Our daughter doesn’t want to ever leave apparently
For £14.50, it was a little disappointing given it's price point. Beans weren't served warm/hot, but maybe because I came only an hour after opening on a Sunday(?) They could be a little more generous regarding portion sizes - Wasn't expecting beans in a tiny saucepan/pot, and probably 2 tablespoons of mushrooms. However, the food did taste relatively good.
Have always been passed but never stopped in before. We were part of a large group there and booked a buffet as opposed to individual meals. We were seated at the back by the kitchen meaning we had a nice little spot to ourselves. Food was really nice. Had mostly veggie options plus 2 (meat options that got devoured very quickly!) I really enjoyed the roast vegetables and tarts. Couldn't get enough of them! Staff there were really good and recommended a few cocktails for those that couldn't make their minds up which went down well for everyone too. Such a nice chilled vibe even with the football on in a neighbouring section.
Our group shared a flight of scotch eggs, the truffle mushrooms on toast and some of the beef sandwichs with both soup and the chips. The scotch eggs were amazing, with perfectly soft boiled eggs inside. The favourite was the black pudding but the variety in flavours was enjoyable. Mushroom on toast went down well and so did the beef sandwichs. Horseradish in the sandwichs could have had a bit more of a kick to it, but still delicious and spice level is dependent on people's taste. Never had chips like these before and they were delicious. Was hesitant at first considering how thick they were, but they were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Soup was carrot and coriander. It had plenty of flavour and complimented the beef sandwichs nicely. Great atmosphere, the Art Deco aesthetic suited the place well. Friendly staff who were very helpful and catering.
A Delicious Sunday Roast I had with Friends in Bristol earlier today, with a Glass of Cider on the side of course, the Roast had an Incredible Taste too, definitely worth visiting, the Staff were very friendly and helpful too, thank you all very much! 😋 🍽 🍺
