About this Pub

The Vic

Why it's great for Matchdays

Town-centre and a short walk from Blackburn railway station, The Vic is convenient for getting to and from matchdays. The pub actively shows live sport and promotes Blackburn Rovers games, and listings indicate they screen a wide range of fixtures. It's described as welcoming to both home and away supporters, making it a neutral pre- and post-match option. Early opening (from 9am) and very late closing on Fridays and Saturdays help for early kick-offs and celebrating (or commiserating) afterwards.

Good atmosphere with friendly staff. No food served here but its got a great selection of drinks and bar snacks. Karaoke or Dj at weekends. There's also an outdoor beer garden which is under cover, heated and lite at night. No children or under 18s excepted though.

Am giving this pub a low rating, simply because I don't want you people cluttering up the space between me and the bar! Great place to have a party, where the staff both, serve behind the bar and run the disco, putting on karaoke, as well. The speed with which they serve two or three people, all at the same time, is something to behold. Again, no pies but they are on top of the toilets, which deserves praise. Has a beer garden that is partially open but heated, in spite of the fuel crisis! Staff are quite apologetic if the system trips out. Great selection of beers at competitive prices, with cocktails at cheaper deals. Honestly, can't fault Paul and his team for making this a really welcoming pub. A true 5` pub in a diminishing few.

Called in for a couple of pints on my way home after an appointment . Was alone and found it to be a friendly pub quiet atmosphere showing sports . The barstaff were on a changeover at 3 pm and both were friendly and efficient and a credit to the pub . Clean roomy pub with outdoor seating to the rear yard
