Handy for matchdays thanks to its transport links: Cherry Tree rail station is directly across the road and there's a bus stop outside on the main road into town, making travel to/from Blackburn straightforward. Inside, the pub shows televised sport and is listed locally among venues with Sky Sports—useful for catching early/late kick-offs or other fixtures around your game. It's a traditional two-room local serving real ale, with regular cask options such as Reedley Hallows Pendleside and Thwaites Wainwright. That mix of transport access, live sport on TV, and proper beer makes it a practical pre- or post-match stop.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff and customers.
Well located, good atmosphere, especially on the weekend and nice staff/ownership. Some pints are pricey, but the ambience makes up for it. Would recommend given the limited options in Blackburn.
The ale here is consistently good. The place is friendly. First decent pint on my pub crawl. Concerning sign on the outside area at the rear, stating that throwing bottles or glass leads to expulsion from the premises...this needs spelling out! Expect issues are more connected with clientele from premises situated nearby. However, simply displaying a sign like that does make you feel less comfortable.
Excellent pub. Well run by Barry and Carol whom have been at this establishment for 25 years plus. Visited on a friday. Good dj on and extremely friendly bar staff and well kept beers with plenty of choice. Long live the local.
Best pub in Blackburn! Good atmosphere, tremendous beer - you can tell it's well looked after. Always something on every night of the week, good staff - what more can you ask for in a pub!
