A small Nicholson pub with a little information regarding the history of the locality. Had many visits here, but regretfully, haven't eaten. Very good ales. Today's visit consisted of a very good ale and a packet of pork scratchings fir £8.30. Why not?

Nipped in here for a quick pint while I was in the area. Its a typical boozer with with several of the standard drinks you see in most places and few not so standard. Staff was friendly and served quick, not sure if they serve food here or not as didn't see any menus. There is an outside smoking area out on the front.

I've walked past this place so many times and always meant to go in, I finally did and I regret leaving it so long. I had 3 different pints here on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Their beer selection was so good, if I hadn't had plans with my family, I would've loved to have gone through more. Inside was beautiful because of the old tiling and classic pub decor. They have some history up on the walls too. It was a charming place to sit and enjoy a drink. Nice and fairly quiet at the time I was in there too. The staff are absolutely brilliant. Not only are they friendly and welcoming, but they went the extra mile for us. I had a tricky gift card that's caused me problems at other retailers before. I handed it to my wife to use on a soft drink to wipe off it's remaining small balance. It played up, and I gave her my credit card to just pay normally, but they persisted with it until it worked. They were so lovely and patient about it too. I'll definitely be back, but minus the gift card next time!

Recommend The Shakespeare to all my friends, family & colleagues. Great times were had here and I know many more to come. Thanks Francis for making it great for everyone that comes to The Shakespeare. 5 stars all way! I’m coming next week with a friend who is travelling all the way from Coventry because I have told him all about the amazing food & drink and of course the amazing service. Great work all, especially Francis who has served us everytime 🤩
