The Peacock Inn is a popular matchday venue situated approximately 400 meters from Shrewsbury Town's New Meadow stadium. It is known for its vibrant atmosphere during football matches, featuring four TV screens that broadcast live sports, including football matches from Sky Sports. The pub offers a hearty pub food menu, including an excellent buffet, and has a good selection of cask ales, beers, and wines. Its spacious interior and beer garden provide ample space for fans to gather before and after matches. The pub's proximity to the stadium makes it a convenient choice for both home and away supporters looking to enjoy a pre-match meal or a post-match drink. Its welcoming environment and comprehensive facilities contribute to its reputation as a fan-friendly establishment.
I was at The Peacock Inn for a funeral tea after my father-in-law's funeral. We opted for the Silver Buffet. We were very impressed with the Silver Buffet, there was plenty of food. The staff were exceptional and looked after us really well, nothing was too much. Even though you don't do cakes you allowed us to supply cakes which we were very grateful for. We would highly recommend you to others.

Dropped in just before 6:00pm to find kitchen closing at 6:00. But staff went out of their way to accommodate us. Said 45min wait actually 20mins so better still.

This Marston's was just OK. Waited about 50 mins for food. It wasn't very busy. Music/ radio kept on changing channel and going loud then quiet. All a bit odd. We called on spec just before 5pm.

Cracking pub with lovely owners and staff. Food is brilliant and very reasonably priced.
Some good ales and lots of screens for when sport is on. Dogs are welcome in 2 parts inside , with water bowls offered for them.
We will absolutely be back . Great pub.
**Edit: visited again and can't fault the place...5 stars!! 👌🏻

Lovely place to stop on a cold afternoon, only knocked atmosphere to 4 because it was a funeral tea! But still it was good to catch up with old friends. Place seems well managed with efficient obliging staff.

A dreadful experience, unapproachable staff to the point I felt uncomfortable complaining and resorted to going directly to Marstons HQ, didn't feel welcome at all, sticky tables, floors and dirty glasses...I was thankful for the straw! Substandard food - charcoled on the outside pink in the middle and that was just the pork! See pictures, you could quite literally ring the fat from the chips... We couldn't get out of there quick enough, had we had more time to find somewhere else we wouldn't have stayed in the first place but as it was bank holiday and we were running to a tight schedule we settled but definitely won't return - not even to use the vouchers sent to us as a good will gesture.

Good local pub with a decent choice of real ale. A fair choice of pub fare staples.
Good service with friendly and helpful staff
