Why is Gordon Arms good for fans?

The Gordon Arms is conveniently located near the Weston Homes Stadium, making it a practical choice for fans attending matches. Family lunch out on a Monday so it was nice and quiet. Nice big restaurant, nice decor. Waitress friendly and helpful. We all ordered off the lunch menu. The food was good, mixed grill delicious, the batter on the fish was raw but they were happy to rectify it. The only thing everyone complained about was the side salad on the plate was warm. I'm guessing they plate it up while the plates are warm so none of us ate it as warm lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes are not nice.

Booked a table for daughters 18th for a family meal. Our server for the entire evening was Lily and she did a great job. Was attentive for our entire visit, regular check-ins to see if we needed drinks etc. Certain meals we ordered weren't t available but Lily offered detailed alternatives (certainley knows her stuff). She was friendly and approachable throughout, an absolute credit to your restaurant. Food was great served in good time and very well presented. Thank you will deffo be back

Great waitress under busy circumstances! Molly and Tom were great! Food was served quickly and still hot. Steaks (3 different) were served as ordered - very attentive at drinks refills!

The Gordon Arms pub offers a quintessentially British experience. The food was nothing short of amazing, a true gastronomic delight. The staff, particularly the cheerful blond lady behind the bar, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The pub's interior exudes charm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Situated in a great location with ample parking, it's convenient to reach. The establishment boasts diverse seating options, from cozy indoor nooks to spacious outdoor areas, ensuring a comfortable spot for everyone. This gem of a pub combines excellent cuisine, friendly service, and a charming ambiance, making it a must-visit destination.

Came in for a late lunch on the off chance on bank holiday Monday as we were passing through the area. We were seated quickly despite it being obviously busy and were pre-advised about the wait time on food, we had no where to be so went for it and we have absolutely no regrets! The food was lovely and hot when it was served and our waitress Molly was an absolute delight. So smiley and efficient despite how packed it was…I don’t think we saw her stop moving once! We will be back.

The food itself was perfect! All came out hot and you get what you pay for so no issues there at all! The service however was a massive let down! I can appreciate it being mothers day the staff have had a busy day however.... It was fairly quiet while we were there, after finishing our main course we sat for a good half hour before I got up to find someone so I could ask for the table to be cleared and dessert order to be taken. The young lady who came, cleared the plates away with a huff was very rude and very blunt. A comment was made to the young lady regarding her attitude and we were told that it's been very busy today and its only just slowed down ( again very snotty and aggressive ) to which i replied if you don't like your job you don't have to do it! Just because it was busier earlier on in the day it doesn't excuse the standard to slip. We weren't expecting greatness however we certainly weren't expecting the attitude we received! I think the young lady needs to brush up on her customer service skills or find another job where she doesn't have to deal with the general public. Overall this ruined the experience as the food can be great but the service is what makes it! ( equally the food can be awful but great service will turn it around ) As stated in the start of the review I can't fault the food at all and we all enjoyed our meal, it's just definitely worth noting the snotty attitude of the kids that work here. It was a young lady light brown hair and very plain looking.

Excellent food (the steak was cooked properly), and the staff were very helpful. Update : we spent the evening here with some friends and had a great time again. Our hostess, Molly, was excellent, very friendly

Molly dealt with our table of four very efficiently and without any fuss. All of the food came out at the same time and they were all hot. Four empty plates at the end of the meal spoke for itself. Good value and the food was very tasty.
