The Ritz is a large Wetherspoons in an old cinema. There are lots of photographs around the place of stars who have appeared at the Ritz in the past. There is a wide selection of draught beers lager and cider, including six hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. The ones we tried were in excellent condition. The fish and chips were good, and the new burgers on the menu are very tasty. The staff are friendly and it's a nice cosy pub.

0*s for Weatherspoons - i asked for the "With iceberg lettuce, tomato, red onion for my Empire State Burger and was told by the "manager" that I would have to pay extra eventhough it doesn't list anywhere what you have to pay as a side/extra for lettuce, tomato, onion and she didn't know how much it would cost
to top it off the "manager" gal was beyond rude and snarky -
the blue container contained the lettuce and tomato that I was finally given after refusing to go up to the cash register (by the bright lights) to pay a non existent listed amount of £ for items which should be included with the burger per the menu

I had a wonderful time at the Ritz, so much so that i’ve become a regular! Big fan of the friendly faces that always greet me! I’d like to give a big shoutout to James R, who always serves me with a big smile and a perfect Guinness. He never fails to impress with his excellent customer service and a very nice beard 🥵. Also notable mentions to Lewis from the kitchen, who always sends his compliments with the food.
Make sure you pop in next time you’re about! Tim Martin is my personal hero! #PintsWithTim

Protect this traditional brekky at all costs. We don’t want avacado. The only add ons we accept are black pudding and halloumi “style” cheese.

Service was superb because food came so fast and the atmosphere was very nice and just at the heart of town.
I gave them a 4 star because the last at the tilt messed the service up. She needs to be trained properly, mostly in ability to work under pressure. There was no crowd yet she couldn't get people's orders right. She just kept redoing it continuously.
The food was amazing. I had American breakfast while my friend had English breakfast
