Why is Kings Head good for fans?
The King's Head is a real ale pub located within Huddersfield's Grade I listed railway station, making it a convenient stop for both home and away supporters traveling by train. It offers a selection of up to ten real ales and ciders, including local favorites like Magic Rock Ringmaster and Timothy Taylor Landlord. While it has been known to house both sets of fans due to its location, some sources suggest it may cater more to home fans on certain matchdays. The pub serves hot food on matchdays, providing a welcoming atmosphere for fans. Additionally, its proximity to the station allows for easy access before and after matches.

Part of the Huddersfield railway station. One large room and one side room. Beers from various breweries. Long Moor Pale (Small World) and Irish Sea stout (Bosun) were tried . Both very palatable. Food available if required. Bar towels hung out to dry on arrival in the beautiful weather.

24/05/25: good service! Still can't believe how great a building, which used to be the 1st Class waiting area for the station back in the day!
12/07/23: took my work friends here as part of the Huddersfield Ale Trail.
16/06/23: Huddersfield Ale Trail, pub stop number 2. Fantastic open plan interior, great selection of craft ale.

Really unusual pub, with very high ceilings and pretty tiled floor. Very bright. Pretty large pub with seating inside and outside. Seemingly popular among locals. Friendly bar lady. Dog friendly place. Great place for a pint before a train. Good selection of ales

Excellent real ale pub beside Huddersfield railway station. There's two big rooms in it. One of the rooms had a really difficult pub quiz in it, I knew my quizing limits and stuck to the great beer in the other room. Nice staff and pleasant local drinkers rnjoying a quiet Thursday evening.

If you want good beer there is no better place in Huddersfield. Large selection of well kept beers with a traditional friendly alehouse feel to the place. Reasonably priced

A boisterous, lively drinking hall. Spartanly furnished, loud and large. It is now more comfortably decorated than it was a few years ago, and unfortunately has lost the small tap room or snug that was to the right of the bar. It's more open plan now, but there is a separate food servery off to one side now, and the toilets are much improved. Even with my gripes, I still recommend it as one of the original drinking spots in the town.
