Working down here in Dag and been coming here almost everyday after work, staff are amazing, food is nice and the ambient is also nice.
There’s always someone in there and it’s in a very nice position of the city.
Ps: the cheesy garlic bread are a beauty

I am currently residing in the Travel Lodge, and was craving a proper roast dinner.
So after work I decided, (although I'm quite shy), I was gonna be brave and go here for a roast alone (partner was at work)
I walked in and was greeted by a very kind young lady who took my drink order at bar, and after saying I'd like a table for 1, guided me to a corner where I could eat without feeling I was somewhat being watched as I was alone.
I opted for the carvery, and wasn't disappointed. The food was hot, plentiful with unlimited roasties n veg.
A very pleasant experience, and one i will definitely be doing again.

As a first visit we didn’t know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised. The meal was delicious and was served very quickly. The place was clean and welcoming and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place looks like it’s recently had a revamp - very nice indeed!

I booked a table a week before for the whole of my family for a birthday arrived to find our table wasn’t even ready so we had to hang about for about 20 minutes. We then got seated and had to wait for another table to become available. We got seated and there was someone at the end of our table and she knew we was waiting for her table so she ate half her meal and left and she prob felt uncomfortable. When ordering we was advised 20-30 mins wait, we waited an hour n half for our food, bearing in mind we was only mainly waiting for meals from the kids menu as some of us waited for carvery, arrived at carvery to find spoons way to hot to even pick up, potatoes was hard inside, stuffing was in small pieces, no mash, no carrots, we always visit here for birthdays and it’s just gone down hill since the refurbishment, the Pepsi was really flat and didn’t taste of anything. Very disappointed today and no idea why it’s so bad now,

First time visiting since the renovations and it looks good, the addition of a pool table, dartboard and TV adds to a good vibe and atmosphere.
Lily-May served us and was very polite, helpful and accommodating.
I cant comment on the food as we had just missed the cut off but will attend again very soon to try.
Great new look guys , keep up the good work💪

Service was quick and efficient despite it being super hot and very busy. Got a great table near the door so was ever so slightly cooler. Food was great....gammon was perfect, not too salty and the roast potatoes were spot on. Shame there was no vanilla ice or brownies as that was the desert I wanted but the mint chocolate tart was a fab substitute and it gives me a reason to go back again when the brownies are back in stock!

I have been a customer of the Pipe Major for many years and although the refurb looks nice the redesign makes the restaurant area more cramped. It was busy when we visited but the service for ordering was slow and the ordering tills need upgrades to make them more reliable and quicker. Again because it was busy the service was slow and we had to wait along time. The staff worked well but needed more help.

not great - came in for a quick bite and ordered food , we had to end up leaving before it arrived (this was 45 minutes) unfortunately and our drinks took a good 20 minutes for 2 pepsis. wouldn’t recommend if you’re hungry or want your food at any sort of pace. pub seems nice enough though besides this…
