Why is The Goldengrove - JD Wetherspoon good for fans?
A large Wetherspoon near Stratford stations and Westfield, the Goldengrove is busy on West Ham matchdays and within walking distance of the London Stadium—making it a practical meet-up before or after games. The pub has TV screens and Wetherspoon advertises live sport, so you can catch pre- and post-match coverage with a pint. Historic away-day write-ups also note it has welcomed both home and away supporters, reinforcing its role as a neutral matchday spot in Stratford.

Average pub grub!!
Went here before a night out for the first time.
Everything is relatively cheap.
Got a couple pitchers which were pretty good
They had a few deals on food options. As it was just a short trip we got a few small plates. Chicken wings and strips.
All Passable 5/10

Goldengrove is a true Stratford Wetherspoons: lively, affordable, and always busy. Just minutes from the station and Westfield, it attracts a mix of locals, shoppers, and football fans, especially on West Ham match days.
The beer garden is its standout feature — spacious and perfect for a sunny afternoon pint. Drinks are consistently good value with a decent choice of ales, while the food and service can be a mixed bag: sometimes quick and satisfying, other times slow or inconsistent.
It’s not the cleanest or calmest spot, but for a cheap pint, hearty portions, and the buzz of East London life, The Goldengrove rarely disappoints.

worst experience ever
i went with my friends just for drinks but ordered some fried chicken, cheesy fries and chicken nuggets for snacks to go with the drinks
when we were about to finish eating, there were 3 wings left and we found hair in one of these, we just informed the person who was serving and he was super sweet, also told the bar manager or whoever that rude mean girl wearing red top was, she is the mannerless and most insensible person we ever met who doesn’t even know to listen to the guests first
we didn’t want a refund or whatever since we were about to leave
we just informed them there’s hair and they should be careful since it’s food they were dealing with and the girl replies like, “but you have been sitting for hours and already had the wings” but the point is we didn’t see because it this place isn’t so bright that we can see it immediately
the food is mid but oily and except for that red top girl, everyone is friendly and welcoming
me and my friends also deal with food and work but that girl seriously needs some professional training for dealing with the guests who are not even creating a scene about finding disgusting hair which we can’t even differentiate is from the chicken or the human themselves.

It's very much a drinker pub,but as a big outside area.Lots of different personalities here that make it very loud.Came to tick it off my Wetherspoons list ,but probably would only recommend if you're in the area and like me love all things spoons.

The place has definitely improved from a few years ago. The food is as expected for a spoons and the service timely, even when really busy, well done !

Horrible service. The server was giving us attitudes when THEY are the ones messed up our order. Severely understaffed. Everything took so long. We waited for more than an hour for our food to be delivered. The food is horrible as well, bacon was ice cold. I don’t know if they cooked it. It ruined my day.

"I've left the review for this place before. I'm not sure why it's asking for it again, but as always, it's a fantastic pub and very happy to be there with such hardworking staff. The bathroom is a little small, but typically clean. cheapest beer in town. They regularly rotate their real ale selection. I love their patio and has many seating arrangements that you can pick from with trees.

Not so far from the train station that it was worth a walk whilst awaiting the 12:12 to Dover after taking the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow. Good for an unlimited refill deal on coffee after flying overnight from Florida.
